    Default Hex blast

The spell states that the model/unit directly hit by the spell lose the animi/upkeep. I have two questions:

    1) if it misses, then there is no direct hit and unit would just suffer blast dmg if applicable. Correct?

    2) if the model targeted is directly hit, then does the anmi/uk drop off just that model, allowing the remaining models to preserve their upkeeps b/c they were never directly hit?

sorry for the noob question. I was looking through prime, and I can't seem to find the answer. So, a "page X" reply is fine as well.

    1) correct

2)When an upkeep expires on a model in a unit, the upkeep expires for the entire unit.

    Hex blast:
"enemy upkeep spells and animi on the model/unit directly hit by hex blast immediately expire"

Does that mean I can Hexblast a Posse Member to let Spiny Growth expire on the whole unit?

By wording on how hex blast affects upkeeps and animi, and the fact there are no animi that themselves specify model/unit: yes.

Thats an uncommon interaction that I never really considered, as spiny growth can only affect 1 model per casting. So it'd take 5 castings to cover a max gator posse. Yet hex blast wipes upkeeps and animi on a model or unit.

I would imagine though, since it's 5 separate castings of Spiny growth, that it would still only be the target that loses the upkeep. Basically, the spell covering the model/unit would have to say 'model/unit' for what it effects for hex blast to take it off the entire unit. So, a spell like scything touch which is 1 cast to cover the whole unit would be lost by 1 hex blast, but spiny growth which would be 5 castings from separate models are 5 separate upkeeps.

Besides, spiny growth isn't an upkeep spell anyway.

    Hexblast:

Enemy upkeep spells and animi on the model/unit directly hit by Hex Blast immediately expire.
That seems pretty clear to me. If you hit a model in a unit, upkeeps and animi for all models in the unit immediately expire. So, if you have spiny growth on two models in the unit, they would both expire, even if the model of the unit that was hit did not have any upkeeps or animi cast on it directly. It is Hex Blast that is affecting every model of the unit - whether or not the effects on those models are animi or upkeeps is irrelevant. They are all expired.
