Yep... There's a reason Master Mechanik Salvoro had to shelve the plans, and Grand Vizier Blaustavya had to get involved for it to be built. Of course, it won't be quite as absurdly heavy for you, so it should be easier to re-pose/pin if you care to do so. Also, the pieces all fit together very well, so if you're okay with the stock pose it goes pretty quick. You will get a lot of glue on your fingers though.
You won't get any sympathy from any of us with the full-metal version :P
I'm pretty sure the original had to be licensed as a deadly weapon in some states after a few "crit defenestration" incidents during assembly or when one left it too close to the edge of the table.
I got a word of warning for all you would-be warriors. When you join my command, you take on debit. A debit you owe me personally. Each and every man under my command owes me one hundred Cygnarian scalps. And I want my scalps. And all y'all will git me one hundred Cygnarian scalps, taken from the heads of one hundred dead Cygnus. Or you will die tryin'-Kommander Oleg Strakhov
Please report on the kit when assembled. My all metal jacks really tear up my foam trays from the weight, I'm hoping the hybrid Behemoth is reasonable weight. Plus, its easier to drill plastic for pinning.
Steel files, utility knives, fine files, painful hours spent with tiny little spikes the size of a pinch of salt . . . I promise you, it will be worth it.
My metal kit wasn't too bad. I pinned the legs and reposed him running with his stomping foot kicked back (pinned through the toe into the base). But the Spikes on top.. those evil evil spikes. I dropped 2, one was quickly found but the other one stayed lost in the carpet. Thought I lost it after 45 minutes of frantic searching only to feel something sharp on my foot as a stood.... yup off the table and into my shoe. Good luck
Heh, well maybe it's just been too long since I put him together and I've blanked most of it out. I ended up reposing him after my original pinning didn't quite cut it, so I had my fair share of anguish. I do like the weight though, given how top heavy he is it helps him stand firmly.
Probably will stick with stock, I'm really rather new still.
Dear. Lord. I'm glad the resin kit came out b/c I was worried about weight. I didn't realize it also meant "easy" construction.
Will do, but I paint then glue. So it might be a while.
It wasn't to bad to assemble I'll just smile and nod at the suggestion to pin at least the one leg that holds the entire models weight >,< and if possible have a catch tray for the spikes.
Just for fun, I decided to weigh my all-metal Behemoth. He's fully assembled, pinned, painted, and based with gravel. (He's slightly modified from the stock pose, but I think he's a reasonable comparison. I really ought to take a picture of him and post it, one of these days...)
The Behemoth weighs 12.55 ounces, or roughly 3/4 of a pound.
For comparison's sake, I weighed some other things:
Gun Carriage - 13.80 ounces
Karchev the Terrible (stock) - 7.4 ounces
Devastator (metal) - 7.2125 ounces (averaged over 4 models; top two both weigh 7.25)
Spriggan (metal) - 7.25 ounces
Demo Corps (metal, 5 man) - 9.75 ounces
Shocktroopers (metal, 5 man) - 10.65 ounces
Bah. You kids and your lightweight plastic models! Why, in my day...![]()

Quick thoughts, just after unboxing. The plastic in this kit is WAY lighter than the multi-jack kit plastic. Remarkably light, even.
It did take a surprising amount of cleaning off mold lines, though it generally came off easily. Only one minor problem with my torso, visible here:
I don't think it's bad enough to merit a parts request, I'll just throw a little putty or something in there.
That explains it. Thanks for the warning, I hadn't realized! Is there anything I should be aware of re: glue or primer intactions with resin? Or is it safe to proceed as normal?
Also, I find the "dancing behemoth pose" looks way better if you have the raised leg standing on a rock or something. More stable and it doesn't look so much like Behy's boogying down.
Ooh! Good call. Also should help support the rest of the model if I can put some weight on that foot too.
I was just curious as to which parts were replaced with the new resin. I can only see the upper torso and the cannons. Are those it?

Would make sense that the legs stayed metal to help support the body better.
At least the new hybrid kit would lessen the risk of developing some sort of wrist injury while painting it. Gosh that thing is so heavy when its fully metal....
If you want to keep the original "stock-pose" and have the behemoth standing on one leg, make sure to use 2 pins for the leg. Even if the glue fails the pins will keep each other in balance and will stop your model from falling over.
2 pins for the leg? I presume you mean 2 pins to keep the leg attached to the body? I've never done any pinning before so I'm not sure where you mean...
Hehe, I'll probably forget all the work it took once I'm done as well :-) . Even though I kept the dancing B pose, it's just awesome, the leg were no real problem (ended up pinning it with a 2 mm stainless steel rod plus a 1 mm steel wire to stop it from rolling over). It's the shoulders and the bombard-"mounts" that gave me the real headache! To get them somewhat symmetrical was a nightmare! But I wouldn't change it for a plastic one, I like the weight of the metal 'jacks in general!
The Behemoth is the only model in my collection I've ever painted two of (not counting troopers or lessers). I painted the original sculpt, then upgraded to an Extremoth later on.
Thanks for posting pics of the resin update, it looks really nice to work with.
For what it's worth, with my original Behemoth I bits ordered a Centurion's shield, mangled it a bit, and had the stomping foot resting on it.
I would almost be willing to trade my metal behemoth for a plastic one![]()
For my metal Behemoth - I bought a metal base - drilled out the appropriate size hole. Filed the peg on the bottom of the foot to the exact dept of the metal base (was sticking out and causing the model to rock). The I put 3 ton epoxy on the joint while saying - take that gravity![]()
Metal Extremoth is the only way to rock!![]()
I have this crazy idea right now to mount my Behemoth on a Cygnaran heavy jack wreck marker. Are the wreck markers from PP the same size as the large bases? And if so, will it be considered tournament legal?
