Default Spawn Whelps vs Drag timing

I'd hoped to get clarification in the thread where this was asked before, but it's been locked, so I'll ask it again.

If a Troll Warbeast is hit by a weapon with Drag, is there an opportunity to spawn whelps before the drag effect moves the warbeast, effectively stopping the move from Drag?

The inactive player's effects should resolve after the active player's, but Drag generates an attack, which seems it would push it to the end of resolution. My interpretation is that I can in fact spawn whelps to screw up the Drag effect, but I'd like more than my interpretation. Any Infernals want to give me a hand?

How did the other thread break the forum rules? And I would still like to hear an Infernal's ruling on this.

Thread was too old. Nevermind that it had the exact same question and was never clearly resolved. Rules is rules.

Ah, I see. Is there any chance we'll get a ruling on it from the Infernals?

Cause the same issue arises with eThagrosh vs. Cryxian Reapers. Do I get to place the warbeast first, or is he dragged first?

That's the common sense talking. In the other thread an Infernal stated the opposite and there was reference to another Infernal confirming what you've said. I'd like something from them since they've apparently said it both ways.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

    This is correct.

The other thread did not have any Infernal posts other than Macallan locking it. The referenced link probably was before a forum crash, so it likely is lost, but Drag is an attack-generating ability.

Also, in the future please do not "poke the Infernals" with posts asking for Infernal comment/verification. See the Welcome to the Rules Forum sticky at the top of this forum for more information.
    Infernal since 30 September 2011

It reads the rulebook or it gets the hose again.
