It is not implausible. PP wants a roughly even number of releases per month to maintain interest in the brand. So, even if they were to have models ready, they may choose not to release them in order to prevent gaps in the release schedule. Of course, this is more likely for models which are not over-due, such as Domination models. At this point I would expect Wrath models to be released as soon as it is possible to do so.
As far as the number of models in the book is concerned, let's not start panicking or get too pessimistic yet. Remember, when Wrath came out, they did say that they had FAR more stuff ready in development than they could put into the one book, so would have to wait to put them in future books. We'll most likely see many of them in Colossals.

I think it would have been nice to bring out the casters the same month as the book like they usually do. If there is a Colossals release event in July then most of the factions won't have their new caster. Last year you earned a point if you took a new Wrath caster.

It is hard to tell anything from the PIP numbers anymore but here is what they've looked like for Khador lately.
33050 Conquest - July 2012
33074 Kayazy Eliminators
33075
33076
33077 Gun Carriage
33078 Koldun Kapitan Valachev
33079
33080
33081 Battle Mechanik Unit Attachment
33082 Torch
33083
33084 MOW Shocktrooper plastic kit
33085 MOW Demo Corps. plastic kit
33086
33087 Black Ivan
33088 Kommander Harkevich, The Iron Wolf
33089 Battle Mechanik Unit Box
33090 IFP Unit Box - July 2012
33091
33092 Vlad, Great Prince of Umbrey - July 2012

33094
33095
33096
33097 MOW Drakhun plastic boxed set
33098 Kayazy Assassins unit box
33902 Black Dragon UA
The known Colossals releases are in red. Well I'm at least assuming that the Black Dragons will be in there. PIP #s 33091 and 33093-33096 COULD be Colossals releases. If so that would give give us 8 new releases for the book. Hard to say though. There could be repackaged units or resculpts in those numbers and there are still gaps in the numbers from last year.

The Winter Argus seems...odd to me, since it's only $14.99, and it comes in a box, but claims to be metal.
I'm guessing the Sons of Bragg won't be under $40.

Urk. It was already looking to be a wallet busting month with Vlad3 and Conquest. Adding the Sons of Bragg isn't going to help...
Look at them, slipping the sons in there like a boss!
"You can't judge a book by it's cover, but having a cover usually doesn't hurt"
Regular Argus costs $12.99 and is metal, so that $14.99 price point seems pretty much in line with the price creep over time. It does seem a little strange that it comes in a box instead of a blister, but I think PP is trying to move away from blisters in general. I think the boxes might actually be a bit cheaper since they don't put the foam in them (which has caused many broken choirboy staffs sadly).
NoVA players: Come to Game Parlor Chantilly on Thursday nights for some Warmachine/Hordes action!
The Protectorate of Menoth: We're on a mission from God.
So no Galleon by gencon...
I am kind of surprised the Winter Argus isn't plastic considering the body is being used to differentiate the two Argi in the battlebox.
PP has shown they'll use the same masters for both plastic an dmetal. See the battlebox warlocks and warcasters also being available in metal, the Legion heavies being basically recasts of the metal ones, and the new Titan and Dire Troll kits being based on versions of the previous metal ones.
I think anything about, "This is plastic, so this has to be" is kind of faulty reasoning.
The price, as noted, is no indicator (metal is cheaper here, some lights in metal are mroe). Box packaging is also not in itself a precedent save through induction (it hasb een before, so will be, is not actually valid reasoning). And it contradicts the PP site itself, which runs on a policy of metal unless stated otherwise.
So actually, no evidence conclusively points it to being plastic.
PP does metal and resin in-house. This means that models might switch-up in production. In fact, this is why we have previously metal kits now as hybrids, or models being one material in one releas,e but having parts made of different stuff later like the Storm Striders from L&L last year to actual date having resin railings become metal ones0.
Plastic, by contrast, is something they setup and do overseas. So the chances of sudden material swap is less likely there. I think it is safer to assume you might get or lose metal randomly, but a kit is not plastic unless it says it is I find.
Not for me. But I think folks should do to have a bit of skepticism, personally.
And stuff.

Metal Spriggan's an excellent model. Served me well since the day it came out. I am kind of looking forward to the plastic clamjacks themselves though, since I'll finally be able to properly magnetize one for open/shut shenanigans.
