    Default Greetings from Edinburgh.

Hello all. i'm a complete noob when it comes to PP. I learnt a little about the background of the iron kingdoms when i recorded a podcast about Warma-Hordes last year. Luckily we have a lot of players here in Edinburgh and a few of my friends are amongst them. Have decided to dive in with Hordes. A circle force shall be my first army and we'll see how we go from there.

    see ya soon.

    Hi Guys!

I had my first trial game in Worlds at War a couple of weeks ago, just starting to paint some of the models now. It's good to know that there are a few players in Livingston and Edinburgh.

    Hello folks,

I know its a little out of the way to play regularly but Stirling Wargamers ( http://purecheese.proboards.com/index.cgi? ) meets on Thursday nights (in the Ochil community hall) and from May to July will be running a Journeyman league. Anyone is welcome to join in the league (check out the league thread in the general discussion area) or just come along for a game.

    Cheers

As the local PG out this way, welcome to the game. Please don't poke the Labrat, he is just off his meds and a little touchy these days If you're on FB, there is a Scottish WM/H group you can join, plus a local group dedicated to gaming in West Lothian and beyond (we let anyone in, even Labrats).

Need any help feel free to PM me and once again, welcome to the Iron Kingdoms.
The problem isn't that Cryx are broken; it's that you can't fix us.

unfortunately the plastic box is still a little way off.

Theres always the option of starting with a different caster. My gf picked up ekaya and a couple of beasts (a stalker and gnarlhorn iirc) simply because she didn't like the metal feral and it turned out well. In fact she has a habit of beating me all too often lol.

I don't make it to any clubs simply because they are all on week nights as far as I know but maybe we'll run into each other if you get into tournies or someone decides to run a weekend club.

gl with circle and make sure you beat tom at elg a few times for me

So, how do you pronounce "Edinburgh"? I ask because I once asked a resident of your awesome city to find it on the map. He pointed it out and I said, "No, that's not Edinborough."

I tend to hear people pronounce it "Edin-bra", some people can get a little touchy; when you say Edin-boro or Edin-berg.

thebright lights of the big city have been known to frighten azhdeen. but he's fairly right. imagine being really, really cold. which is quite normal up here! burrrrrgg! you know that sound? well its edin-burrrrrgh!

normally its edin-burr, or edin-bra, depending on your accent.

    Ello UNO.

Edinburgh is pronounced "Edin-buh-ruh" (the 'uh' like in uh-oh)

A more complicated one to get right is Hawick.

    Welcome to the 'Machine!
We had another new arrival from Edinburgh earlier today - if you don't already know sanowilson, you might want to get in touch - I'm sure you're both eager to meet others in your area who share the hobby, and it's supposedly easier for people to learn this game by playing against other new players. Good luck!
