This is the first list of the models i liked so far allso im new to ret and wanted to try something new first off im a menoth player in most causes i used harbinger 90% of the time so i have to deal with low foucs casters i know Ronny is a 8 foucs caster however i dont like his feat and im not keen on battle mages. Allso Vyros is more my style of borad controll and being able to soften tragets before they get to my lines cheers

Hydras are not a popular choice with most casters, but Vyros does run them better then the rest (except for Kaelyssa, who runs them better than Vyros imo). That said, you'd probably be better served by trading in one of the Hydras for a Banshee who will offer a ton of versatility to Vyros and meshes well with Circular Vision while also providing solid melee hitting power. Plus, he has Reach!!! Vyros loves reach warjacks.

Something else that Vyros loves is the merc. solo Sylys Wyshnalyrr who lets him upkeep a spell for free (Inviolable Resolve...) and lets him get a pseudo boosted hit roll and damage roll with a spell (Stranglehold). He is a perfect fit.

The Houseguard Rifles are outclassed by our other ranged options. Personally, to open up enough points for the changes I mentioned, I'd replace them with Stormfall Archers who add a huge amount of utility to the list.

The ghost snipers are cool fluff and model wise but I personally have a hard time getting them to be worth their points. Try them out. If you don't like what they do for you, you have a lot of other options for those 4 points including a Destor Thane, 2X Mage Hunter Assassins, eyriss + a soulless on the halbs, ect.

It depends on how hard you want your list to be. As a fluffy list, the revised one is MUCH stronger than your original, and still keeps within the spirit of the faction. It provides some competitive improvements to an otherwise soft list.

Many things in Retribution work exponentially better when taken in pairs. Stormfall Archers are a shining example. I recommend further removing both Ghost Snipers, 1 Arcanist and replace them with a second Archer Unit.

8 Stormfall Archers open up a world of hilariousness that is trademark to our beloved faction such as:

- Carpet bombing Kyazy, Gun Mages, Winter Guard, or other high-def low arm troublesome units.
- Setting shield walls on fire (I know Menoth likes fire)
- Running your Halb Standard Bearer next to an enemy caster, then shooting him in the back with a flame shot, setting him and the caster on fire.
- Brutal Damage (not crit) on Banshee Knocked Down models.
- 16" snipe
