So, my new years resolution was to completely repaint my entire Skorne army - thought I'd share some of what I've done so far with you all. Comments and criticism welcome..

Wow! I really love the dark bronze. It really highlights the paleness of the Skorne, awesome job.

Agree! Color scheme looks soooo menacing!![]()
Very nice work. By repaint do you mean strip and start over or paint over?
"Just because you lost with a list doesn't mean its bad, likewise winning with a list doesn't make it good either."
No evil-glowy skorne magic effects (not real up on my skorne fluff) on either picture, but I think the clubs on the second dude could use some for a real POP effect.
Painting is well done if not totally understated in a good ways palette-wise

These are incredible! The pallid skin/flags & accents look amazing with that armour colour you've picked, and the facial markings etc really top it all off nicely.
Thanks for making me regret my bone armour scheme half way though my army! ;p

Thanks guys. Yes, I mean stripping the army entirely, and starting again from scratch. iBodger tells me that I've done 23.8% of it so far..
But then its so easy to paint shedloads of Immortals and Ancestral Guardians that seems a little unfairly exaggerated.
A couple more for you guys - a before and after really, just follwing the last post.
As you can see, its not really all that drastic a change, I just never liked the Red and Pig Iron feel to them is all.
Also, frogs!
How did you do the bronze? It's awesome.
Really nice scheme. Great contrast between the skin and the armor.
I envy your gem painting on the basilisks. What do you use for that?
Thanks guys.
The bronze is Geedub Tin Bitz, heavily drybrushed with Dwarf Copper, and then with a Devlan Mud wash, and finally Badab Black in the really recessed areas.
The gems are a base coat of black, followed with Red Gore, blend in Blood Red and then a final slight blend of Blazing Orange. Add a white dot in the corner, and then gloss varnish it.
I really like the flesh on the basilisks it's got a very visceral meaty feel to it.
Also have to agree with everyone here that bronze is really good.
Keep it up.
I'm loving how the flesh looks fresh and bloody from the hooks in the titan. Very cool.
Bam, and here it is.. I love this thing. Even if its rules make it entirely questionable to field one.

WoW! This stuff looks amazing. The armor has that dark old samurai armor feel to it which I love. The gems are spectacular and the war paint/tatoos are really nice as well. Top notch stuff.
Great and realistic paint job ... this looks like an army down to war and not like some of the stuff using bright colours and that to make the models look like new toys which actually never see a battle field (like my purple Retribution :P )
I dig this!
I cannot wait 'til this girl is another man's problem.
Sick! love it, and your basing choices. Everything fits together very very well. My only suggestion would be to put a thin brown wash over the white sand, it could use a little depth.
It's a really smart color scheme, evocative. I'd like to see a group shop from table top level.

I have been looking for some good Skorne to give me inspiration, and I have found some here. Good stuff.
I'm in love, makes me want to strip down my own. There's something so gritty and brutal about this scheme, it evokes the Skorne mentality infinitely more than the studio colors. Incredible work.
Can I ask what you used for your orange/gold color? The color furthest up on the shoulder plates of your cetrati.
Gotta say these color schemes rock! The skin contrasting the the armor so much really gives them that, evil vibe they truly are trying to conquer the Iron Kingdoms....

Real nice job on these...favorite skorne to date. Great scheme...dark with details that simply pop and even better it appears one that lends itself to fairly quick production style painting.

I must ask. How did you do your titan flesh? It looks amazing!

Man, you really did an awesome job with the barbs, I mean it looks so painful. And the contrasting colors are a real nice touch.
Looks great! After reading the Makeda book, all this fine looking Skorne is tempting me to pick up a second faction.

..thanks everyone. Whats next? When the Reptile Hounds are released I guess. Over the weekend, I'll get some pictures of the rest of the Skorne. It might take some time though!
Love these. your detail work is fantastic.
I don't like the deep bronze on the beasts, but I love it on the infantry.
