Hello, newer player here. Could someone explain how the dice - # system works? Thanks.

Cygnar: 50% Success
Stryker 1: 1/1 vs Cryx, 2/2 vs Khador, 1/1 vs Cygnar, 0/1 vs Circle, 1/1 vs Trolls
Nemo 2: 0/1 vs Cryx, 0/1 vs Protectorate, 0/1 vs Trolls,
you mean for damage rolls?
Typically is Pow of weapon (ranged) or Pow + strength (melee) - Armor value of the target = damage taken.
For example POW 13 - Armor 18 = negative 5. So the damage taken would be the result of your die roll (2D6) minus 5 (because the armor value is 5 higher then the POW of the attack). If you rolled a 7 on the die (average on 2D6) you would end up doing 2 damage to the target (7-5= 2).
On the flip side if your attack is higher then the targets armor you end up doing more damage.
Thanks, that was what I was thinking, but confirming is always best.

It's just a shorthand for calculating.
Instead of saying "Pow 12 + the 8 I rolled = 20, minus your ARM 18 = 2 damage" you can say "ARM 18 - Pow 12 = Dice - 6 for damage), that makes it a lot faster to know how much damage each roll does.
Likewise you can say "POW 12 vs ARM 25... it's not even worth rolling 2 dice at dice - 13"![]()
