Default Shortest Game I have ever personally witnessed

I recently ran a 35pt steamroller tournament. This occurred...

Second round. Factions were Cryx (Skarre) vs. Menoth (Harbinger), Menoth goes first. Menoth player advances on first turn. Cryx player advances and tries to kill several deliverers with spells, the Menoth player keeps cutting the Harbinger to save her troops. She saves all but one, doing 16 points of damage to herself. Menoth player activates, does some advancing and attacking, only heals the Harbinger back up to 8 HP, leaving her "protected behind" some small based troops. Cryx player begins second turn. Advances one bonejack and then spell assassinates with Skarre.

Even the Menoth player laughed when he realized what he had done.

Stories like that are always good for a chuckle. My shortest was Elylyth second turn, but those aren't hard. The shortest at my LGS was Ret vs Karchev, bottom of turn one, though I personally didn't see it happen.

    My shortest game ever
    pHaley vs pBaldure

I went second with Circle. He ran everything forward, Haley threw some spells and had a 4 foc on her. I went for assasination, geomancied baldur's buff on him. Phaley ended movement within 2'' from forest so we all know what happened next.
    Circle owned/painted : 10 warlocks, 257 pts/104 pts
    Khador owned/painted: 7 warcasters, 170 pts/painting in progress

    eHaley v Monty

Monty goes first and maneuvers things forward pretty much as far as they will go, casts spectral steel on scavenger
eHaley moves conservatively and channels through a jack to take control of a DJ and hit a slayer
Monty goes, DJ turns around and uses necromancy to damage channeling jack and eHaley for 1, casts overrun on warwitch and terminal velocity, warwitch sprays shield knights, overrun triggers on scavanger, scavenger charges eHaley, game. my fastest win

I've ended games on the top of 2 with almost every Ret caster (and bottom 1 with Ravyn and Rahn). Seems like your meta might be light on elves.

Yesterday, Mosh Pit game at 50 points, my Legion vs my brother's circle. I take my turn, hussle up to the middle, he takes his turn, moves his stuff up to contest, but leaves Kreuger a bit too close. I move eThagrosh up, scourge him to knock him down, blast him with his spray, pop feat, carnivean activates, blasts him with another spray, Seraph moves up, full 4 straife shots, then a shredder runs up, gets its move+attack from Dragon Storm, and eats Kreuger.

Turn 2 assassinations. They happen fast.

Turn 2 Vs Trolls a long time back:
(I was using Kraye, Stormclad and Stormlances)

Turn 1, Trolls move up, I move up.
Turn 2, Trolls move to edge of forest. Kraye casts Easy Rider, sends stormlances to clear the road through forest and then Full Tilted Stormclad through the woods to Troll caster.

Back when I played Ret and our little group of friends were starting out, we were such noobs my friend ran up pSorcha on turn 1 alone. My MHA was never happier. Bottom of turn 1 win. Also happened later, a Reckoner shot in turn 1 and took out another Warcaster than just ran up a bit too much... But in hindsight...

Bottom of Turn 1. I'm playing eLylyth. Opponent is playing Kromac. Kromac is hiding behind a knurl horn((SP)) with no furry. eLylyth activates, pops feat, advances, takes out a couple of wolves so that she can get far enough up the field to drop a pen cushion onto the knurl. Bolt thrower activates, walks, shoots the knurl boosts to hit, gets a crit, down got knurl. Well, you know the rest of what happens next. 4 Ravagore shots and a couple Raptor shots later, Kromac is sitting face down dead on the ground.

Not sure that really counts per-say. Thats kinda a easy situation to pull off if your opponent leaves himself open like that. The only other one was a game that lasted about 15 minutes. Ended on top of third turn but it was a win by scenario with eDenny. After some running and denny charging one of her own models before popping feat to lock the opponent in place. Denny scores the 3 control points needed to win the game.

The killing in the first round thing is actually not that hard to do with elves, just as Mastershake said.

I actually had one of those in my second or third ever game with Retribution. I played Ravyn and my opponent played eCaine. He won the starting role and advanced, which was the one big mistake he could have done ;-). My AD'ed MHSF under Snipe can reach targets as far as 2" out of the deployment zone (now that they changed to 10" / 7" it three inches, which is still pretty good). Second problem for him is that under Ravyn's feat the damn mage hunters actually do not have a big problem to hit even eCaine. Bottom line: I had eleven tries (all of the MHSF were in range) but finished him after three .

Quick game... after that it took a while for him to face me again when I was playing elves ...

I just had one on Sunday. I played Cassius vs pBaldur, so I knew I was not going to be able to use my feat. Plus the battlefield had a fair bit of forests on it too. He went first moved everything up, used Wardens animus to put forest under Baldur and used his spell to create another to teleport into. Then I moved up warily with my forces, used the bone grinders to cast a 12" Strangle hold on a warden while keeping Cassius more than 14" away from Baldur. 2nd turn he does the same movement trick again and uses his feat. At this point Baldur in 5" from my warpwolf stalker and 6" from Cassius. Even with 2 fury for transfers, the Stalker killed him no problem. He thought that he would be out of their threat ranges with his feat up. At least he woke up in time to be my randomly picked partner for a Circle vs Circle team up game later that day. Which we won.

I've actually used this strategy before. The Menoth player in my group loves to hurt Harby to save his troops. So I extinguished most of my attacks trying to get one of the warrior models off of a scenario target, saving all my ranged for last. Once I was done, Harby had 8 health boxes left, and I still had behemoth and a bunch of widowmakers to catch Harby, who didn't have any focus on her.... she tends to be quite squishy for a 10 focus caster
