    Default Circle vs Circle

I'm going to team up with a fellow circle player and play as many games as possible against each others armies. We want to try to understand our faction better in terms of strengths and weaknesses and it might be beneficial to play ome mirror games. However, he's a big fan of pKaya (and eKaya) and he wants me to optimize my list against her. I'm thinking Mohsar or Kromac. Which warlock works best against Kaya - I haven't played against her. This is what I've come up with:

    Mohsar
    Feral Warpwolf 9
    Pureblood 9
    Gnarlhorn 8
    Tharn Wolf Riders 6
    Bloodtrackers 8

I want to try to flank Kaya with Bloodtrackers and the Wolf Riders while the beasts and Mohsar stay in the middle, using Pillars of salt to slow him down and Sunhammer to damage his beasts. Can it work? He usually plays a Feral, Pureblood, Gnarlhorn, Argus and something more.

I think your list looks pretty good. How many points though? Also watch out for his Feral + Gnarlhorn killing Mohsar. If I could I'd try to bring a woldwarden just for animus and geomancy.

I agree, there should be a warden in the list. Curse of Shadows would drop his Feral to ARM 14, which is fairly easy to get through.

    Mohsar
    Feral
    Woldwyrd
    Woldwarden
    Bloodtrackers (full unit)
    Tharn Wolf Riders
    Alten Ashley
    Shifting Stones

Largely your Pureblood will do most of the work excecuting the Kayas. Sprays ignore Stealth. He ha a 10" range and POW-14. All pKaya can do is run so the moment you box them, you start killing her and her Warbeasts through transfers. If you really want to optimize against the Kayas run two Purebloods.

Ok, I only have 1 Pureblood...
Is there anything else beside Woldwarden and Pureblood that is essential? Is Mohsar the best anti-Kaya caster?

    Right now I'm going for:

    Mohsar
    Pureblood
    Woldwarden
    Woldwyrd
    Wolf Riders (full unit)
    Bloodtrackers
    Shifting Stones

That list looks really solid to me if you change the bloodtrackers to bloodweavers. You'll mainly do this to make them ps11 4D6 on the charge vs. anything living in his/her list (which should be most of it). Keep them spread out but paired up so worst case scenario you lose a pair.

Yeah, I think the Bloodweavers would be great...only, my LGS still haven't got their first box yet. We get things a bit later here in Sweden. I could get it on mail order...
I really want the box though, I like both the Bloodtrackers and the Wolf Riders.

Don't get me wrong, the bloodtrackers are still good, make sure when you make something their prey, that you commit to it, and try and take it out asap (same goes with the wolf riders). These units boosts from prey make them worth their points especially in smaller games. Also, normally after I take my initial prey out, if I'm unengaged, I just go straight for caster. I've never started a game preying their caster though, I find this to be too difficult :P

With the Bloodtrackers I always choose the prey most likely to get in their way first, based on deployment. I've never fielded the riders but I was thinking about choosing the warlock and running them far up on a flank, just to make him cautious and force him to pull a beast or two out on the flank... don't know if that would work, maybe it's better to choose something possible to assault early on in the game.

Now I need a Kromac list...

    Kromac
    Woldwarden
    Feral
    Gnarlhorn
    Wolf Riders
    Cylena & Nyss Hunters

This is very from the top off my head, Kromac is new to me so I guess there are some things to improve.

I want to tie up his beasts and let Kromac go for the caster kill, possibly creating room with the satyr. I know the Megalith is kind of over the top at 35 pts, but... well, what do you say?

Looks good to me, only trouble being you can't heal the warden.

I really like the list (to be honest) but I have a strange compulsion to always bring a gorax with a feral. Not sure who you would drop though. Probably the gnarlhorn and then you'll have 4 points to play with (perhaps shifting stones and blackclad/lanyssa or Lord of the Feast and Swamp Gobbers/War Wolf).

Build it, paint it, play it
