Ok rok plus any doomy = win. Berserk goad fantastic. Janissa bouncer keep the old man alive. Rok buffing ebdt makes him very accurate while providing the +2 dmg a pyre troll normally does. So anything he charges will die end of story. Rok can shred heavies or infantry. Purification can stop iron flesh problem if needed. Fortune if rly concerned.
We all know fortune on scattergunners is amazing. With cmas and quickwork they arent bad even in the frontline as only unit. Their armor and def is same as fennblade.
Ksb will add to beast and doomie survivability.
Though they can be switched for ssc to help scattergunners. The extra point could be used on a feralgeist or gobbers i guess.
i would love to use thrullg instead of ksb. But im not amazing at using him. The annoyance of yet more denial with doomy sounds great. If ur beasts do ok anyway and u got some thrullg delivery system. Go for that. Doomies defense is set up already.
I would rather add some kriels to the list or some kind of chaff, than to have the max Scattergunners and bouncer. I have very, very rarely found that I need a max scattergunner unit and more often then not, I find a max unit just gets in the way and becomes wasted points (I'm sorry, I have no use for THAT many sprays). Additionally, scattergunners need something to escort them up the field; with their UA you don't have to worry about them wrecking up your escort.
I'm not too crazy about the bouncer with the current shieldguard rules as they are. I feel like with janissa, KSB, and transfers, the old man should be fine. So, removing the bouncer and minimizing the unit of SG's would give you 8 points to create this proposed escort(Max Fennblades or Max Kriels with Standard/piper).
Bumps animus is too good. So i wont drop the bouncer. Plus for transfers hes a perfect candidate. I ran a similar list to this the other day. I had forgotten my gunners at home zo i used max fenn instead. It worked well and let me run rok when i needed to and kept him safe for a bit.
I actually want to get better with the list and drop the janissa crutch to add elder for ksb and min
unit of bonegrinders for farther spell range and keeping the animi alive.
The max gunners though allows u to escort themselves. Played right. The front line dies keeping the rest alive. It may not work against infantry crushing lists. But few units we have survive against that.
I have really found that the Bouncer is handy in a couple situations, but not all. Bump on paper is really good, in practice i've found it less than stellar. the expiration after the first hit means that if a beast is ganged up on the animus is irrelevant. also, there are plenty of ways around that animus. I think the Axer is ace and throws another heavy hitter into the mix, whose animus easily compensates for Rok not having reach, extending his charge threat as the Bouncers damage output is a little bit lackluster. I think the scattergunners would be better in your force as a min and adding in some KW or beefing up the stone.
