35point eGaspy Noob

So new to the caster, and plan to take him to a tournament this weekend......it's a 35point steamroller. Since i haven't had a chance to try out my list yet, i figured i'd get the communities advice.

ppl will probably suggest dropping a node and try to fit in biles. i dont know how much biles are :X excarnate trick is pretty much egaspy.

You don't have any way to fight high DEF low ARM units. You need Bile Thralls. Running only one arc node is an option. Drop Defiler and take Min Biles or drop the raider captain and Gerlak instead. Seeing your list I would personally drop the two solos for the biles.

I just finished playing Gaspy2 as list 1 in a 50 pt SR this past weekend. I really enjoy his "slow roll control" gameplay. Dropping his spear to then purge that area is such a fun combo. Death Knell works as well is you are trying to crack a bit higher armor and your opponent packed those warriors in like sardines.

The list looks solid enough, not sure what time limits you might have but it could cause an issue with that much infantry in 35 points, that said my knights seem to die pretty quickly so it might not be too bad.

ya good list but I definitely take bile thralls there are to many high DEF infantry out there that this list will not be able to handle well less they pack them in close and you get a Death Knell off.

Cool, thanks for the tips. Unfortunately my biles aren't painted, and my plan was to field fully painted. I could possibly paint them up before saturday, but meh...

Time isn't a factor as I play terminus with close to 50 infantry at 50 points.

In my opinion, a Skarlock is useless with Egaspy. It can only cast offensive spells and without boosting, they're too unreliable to spend 2 points on.

For people suggesting to drop the Defiler to take Biles:
1) You will have 2 unused WJ points, so you would have to drop something else (Skarlock would be my suggestion)
2) It's Steamroller, you are required to use all of your WJ points

I agree that you will have a hard time against high def infantry, but if you don't want Biles, then you could leave the list as is. Though I still think the Skarlock is useless, you could drop that and downgrade the Defiler, you could fit in something else. My suggestion would be to take a Helldiver instead, which leaves you with 4 points for Darragh, although I suppose you have him with Terminus.

Gorman could also be useful to swap in, instead of the Skarlock, you can never have enough clouds!

To explain the cuts: First off, the Raider Captain doesn't do much in this list (she's ok with the feat, but not good enough to be worth 2 points). The Defiler is balls, and I cut the Deathripper as well because eGaspy doesn't really need arc nodes. For the Skarlock, note that eGaspy has like 2 spells it can cast, and they're both offensive (so it won't stay alive). It's not worth it.

Cankerworm is eGaspy's pet bonejack. He's maneuverable, very hard to pin down, focus efficient, and hits HARD (especially when combined with Dark Shroud and/or Parasite). Occasionally you'll get to pull off some silliness with his adaptive weapon. Bile Thralls are absolutely absurd with eGaspy because of Excarnate shenanigans, and are mandatory with him. Saxon Orrick gives Pathfinder to Bane Thralls, Bile Thralls, or to Gaspy himself when necessary. If you don't think you need that, take Gorman and do lots of fun and unfair things. If you find that you absolutely need an arc node, replace Cankerworm with a Ripjaw (the best node IMO).

You're only using 5 jack points. You need to use all 6 jack points in steamroller.
