    Default Ossy 50pt list

    Ossyan +6
    Hypnos 9
    MHSF+UA 10
    Halberdiers+UA 9
    Destors 11
    MHA 2
    Discordia 10
    eEiryss 3
    Arcanist x2 2
    50

An idea of speed and jamming existed in the thought process in making the list. But that's not to say i thought long and hard about this. I know it's not the greatest list, but my brain is currently fried and not seeing clearly (the 60pt version had more answers to stuff, until I realized it was 10pts over...).

Beyond the normal 'Destors suck' comments, what will this list have trouble dealing with?

Ossyan's biggest problem comes from not being able to hit things. In addition, his biggest strength is being able to crack serious armour on his feat turn. I feel like this list isn't really correcting this problem, or playing to this strength.

    Things you'll have trouble against:

    - Khador. Pretty much this entire faction. The MHSF will have trouble hitting their infantry and won't be able to put enough damage on their jacks. Winterguard with Bob and Weave will be problematic and you have no answer for Kyazy Assassins.

    - Stealth. It's interesting that you chose to exclude Stormfall Archers from this list. On their own they are great for clearing out stealth infantry and on Ossy's feat turn the scattering AoEs are still boosted and will do heaps of damage. The only ranged answer this list has is Discordia which isn't really enough all on it's own.

    - High Armor. This list is fairly pillow-fisted and on Ossyan's feat turn you're not going to have enough shots to really make good use of it. Lists that are beast/jack heavy aren't going to be stopped by POW 10s from the MHSF.

    - Difficult Terrain. Inhospitable Ground will shut this list down hard. Fences/walls and forests will cripple your Destors and prevent your Halbs from tarpitting effectively. Because you're shooting isn't as strong as it could be you're going to suffer twice as much from things that stop your charges.

    - Incorporeal. No access to magical shooting or fire effects (hello Stormfalls and Phoenixes). You've got 2 shots from your jacks plus your caster which you most likely won't be close enough to use. Cryx and Legion are both going to give you an uphill battle with this list, but if there are none in your meta then it won't matter much.

Just to add to the above, if you're facing off against Borka, you'll have a tough time with WindWall, since the oly things with Magic weapons are Ossyan, and the 'jacks.

Thanks for the input. I'm seeing a bit more clearly after a night of actual sleep.

It looks like Stormfall Archers would help with both High Def/Stealth issues (scattering AOEs) and High ARM (brutal shot + feat). While I'm sure it makes more sense to drop the Destors for them, I'm leaning towards Discordia (for two units of archers) just because I'd like to use the Destors even if they're not highly rated (to be kind).

I'd still have some issues with rough terrain, but more shooting to help deal with it (since I don't recall all that much pathfinder in Ret, outside of the Mage Hunters). I'd also actually end up having more issues with Incorporeal, but I don't see that being huge. Relatively few models can be incorporeal, pistol wraiths likely to be the most annoying of them.

One note: Fire does nothing to Incorporeal models as the Incorporeal advantage makes those models "immune to continuous effects."

You can drop Disco here, add the 2 units of Stormfalls and have a really solid list. With those quality of life changes, you're 'new' biggest problem is going to be actually hitting things. Your only available boost comes from Ossyan's gun which usually leaves him pretty far out in the open.

The reason why Destor's are so "bad" is because they compete for options. What will turn this good list into a GREAT list would be dropping Disco for the Archers and dropping the Destors for a Banshee. The Knockdown from the Banshee is insanely good with Ossyan and really allows you to drop and pop key models on the board.

Definitely play with the models you want to use. Sometimes we get caught up in trying to win and forget that we actually play this damn game to have fun in the process. That being said, if you like our cav so much, consider running Destor Thane solos. They are amazing models, work GREAT with Ossyan and you can run 2 for 8 points which almost fills the gap in your list. You could probably proxy your Destor models as Thanes unless your lgs gets grumbly about that sort of thing.

That puts a lot of faith in the Banshee's RAT 5 ability to hit.

Even with Range 12, getting the aiming bonus is going to be hard.

And yea - Destor Thane - multi-shot with Ossyan is AMAZING.
