    Default New to Gators

Who would have thought a floridian would want to play gators lol. I play trolls now and was interested in pigs to start but one of my friends started a pig army in secret lol. He just showed up at the LGS with a fully painted farrow army. So in retaliation I want to grab some gators to chomp them lol. My question being what should I start with. I already know that I should either get Barny or Maelok since Calaban has a higher learning curve. I also think WE and SJ are great. So to start out from 15 to 35 what should a buy list look like? Thanks in advance Dave

    Danka on the sig.

Barnabas is the easiest to start with, as he is both sneaky & straight forward at the same time. From there, it is all personal preference and what ever kicks in your "Ooohhh!! Shiiiiny!!" syndrome. Most recommend a Blackhide Wrastler and an Ironback Spitter to start.

Yeah Gator selection is small enough that buying "one of each" probably wont put you wrong. That said, Barnabus or Maelok are both decent to start with. Both like at least one full unit of Gatormen Posse. Both like a Thrullg. Both like a Wrastler. For a second beast, Barny can probably use a Spitter or a Swamp Horror while Maelok might prefer the Horror. Both like Snappers as a near auto-include in most lists.

After that? Well, nothing is essential but a lot of our stuff is fun. I like Trogs while most people seem to like Croaks to fill up the last few points.

So as a catch all shopping list I'd buy:

    Barny/Maelok
    Wrastler
    Bull Snapper
    Full Posse
    Spitter/Horror
    Thrullg

Probably in that order. Play that for a while and then reread the book and see what else seems like fun. Totem Hunter, Trogs, Croaks ect. are all pretty effective and add a lot of variety and fun to the army.

No reason to not take a bullsnapper. for 3 points your lock gets +2 arm and a neat damage proc. The only other faction with access to this wonderfull animus pays 11 points for it. Also its not restricted to self so you can drop it on Wrastlers ect to make them super tough to kill.

As stated above 1 of everything is a good place to start, However i highly suggest 2 units of posse.
