    Default Very first gator list Maelok 35

    OK so this is all theory machine I havent bought a single gator yet but if you guys think this list will work than this is what I am going to start my gator force with

    Points: 35/35
    Maelok, the Dreadbound (*6pts)
    * Bull Snapper (3pts)
    * Blackhide Wrastler (9pts)
    * Swamp Horror (8pts)
    Gatormen Posse (Leader and 4 Grunts) (9pts)
    Gatormen Posse (Leader and 4 Grunts) (9pts)
    Totem Hunter (3pts)

    or should I drop the 2nd posse for WE+SJ
    What do you guys think? Not much flair or tickyness but I am coming from trolls so axe to mouth is second nature to me lol

    I know next to nothing about Minions, and am in the same boat as you. I want to do a Maelok list.

    Consider two things:

    (1) Check Maelok's page on battle college

    (2) If you were to drop the Totem Hunter the list would qualify for Maelok's Theme list at Tier 2 with 3 points left over. In your first turn the army would have Incorporeal. Run them forward. Next turn, assuming they have not been able to do much damage to you, you can pop the feat and be incorporeal again.... Lots of possibilities!

    Imho, list seems a little beast heavy. Maybe drop one of the heavy beasts for a light or something. If you are going theme the Ironback may not be ideal.

    the list is in no way beast heavy. In fact you have JUST enough fury to run your warlock effectively.

    All in all the list is very legit.

    Should I run 2 posses or run WE SJ? The totem hunter is there in case I can't finish something and the witch doctor isn't out yet and I don't like to proxy

    With Maelok, definitely 2 Posses no question. I've seen a lot of players run 3 Posses with him at 50 points. He loves having all those extra bodies for Revive shenanigans.

    Your list looks solid, and you can easily swap out the SH for a Spitter.

    WE & Snapjaw + Bullsnapper is also an option. This allows you to cast Spiny Growth on all of your Posse members, bringing them up to ARM 22 (with Unyielding, Death Pact, and Spiny Growth). This makes them all but immune to normal infantry.

    I am thinking a thrullg would be better than the totem hunter as well. Now is the spitter better with maelok than the horror?

    I'd also go with Horror over Spitter. Maelok likes to jam his guys in the enemy lines and the revived 'gators are a little allergic to corrosion.

    Thrullg gives you more utility and a solution to camping warcasters while the Totem Hunter is more about raw power. I'd go with Thrullg myself but either should be fine. Depends a little on your meta. If you're going to play in any tournaments it could be worth noting that TH is FA:C and you can't use him in both lists.

    For the love of great & mighty gator god {whose name escapes me because I have a mind like a sewer grate...} keep the second posse!!

    I have run a near identical list to great effect, although I use the Ironback Spitter because Mr.Hugglesworth was not available at the time. It is a very solid and effective list either way.

    Your list is solid. Two posses is a great core, a Wrastler to chuck gators, and a Horror for shenanigans. The Horror can score some seriously damage while enemies are under Maelok's Malediction too.

    If it were me:
    Swap Horror for Spitter, ranged threat is hard to come by in Blindwater.
    Totem Hunter for a Witch Doctor and Feralgiest. Witch Doctors go down to 2pts each under Maelok's Tier set, which you qualify for without the hunter. He is an excellent piece though, and all fear the predator.

    Both these are purely personal preference.

    Huh...

    I missed the part about the point discount for Witch Doctors on Maelok's theme force - probably because the witchdoctor are still not available yet.
