    Default New to Hordes

A friend in my game group had been talking about Hordes for the last year or so, I finally gave it a try and after playing a few games I can't help but wonder why I didn't try to play sooner. Anyway, I decided to go with Skorne, I got the battle box a Bronzeback and a couple of Beast handlers. I've been looking at some of the lists people post but I was wondering if there was a certain way that Skorne should be played? Just kinda looking for a bit of direction I guess, I've been reading a lot and I'm a bit overwhelmed.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Welcome to the Iron Kingdoms! A friend of mine just got Skorne as well. He just followed the Skorne Buyer's Guide: http://privateerpressforums.com/show...e-Buyers-Guide

We played our first few games last night. One thing I know is that you want to keep your beasts alive long enough to do some damage to your enemy. Also, your infantry seems pretty expendable, so get used to losing them. Some Skorne models even benefit from allies dying near them!

Have you stopped by the Skorne forums and read the stickies? There's a lot there, but it can give you a good idea on how to get the most mileage out of your models.

Come on by the Skorne forums. Face posted the buyer's guide which is a great guide for slowly making your purchases until you understand what you want to get out of Skorne.

Skorne themselves embrace pain. As a Skorne player, embrace that concept. Our infantry is either meant to hit hard, or it is meant to jam things up and be expendable. We have the absolute best faction when it comes to punishing the enemy for hurting us, but it does require getting hurt first.

Getting the Alpha strike is possible with some of our casters and beasts, but I find that we work much better as a bait and switch/attrition faction. Lead with something to get slaughtered, and use your enemies new position and the power you get from your own units death to get a steamrolling style beta strike.

Your beasts will have the highest armor in Hordes, and will be tied for sheer damage they can output. Use that to your advantage.

    Good luck future paingiver.
