i played elylth and four ravagores against stormfall archers, magehunter strikeforce, a close combat unit and a light warbeast.

... I don't think that attitude is dictating how I'm playing the game [at least for me]. Make the best play you can at the time, hope your dice support you.. and rehash it afterwards to see if you missed something. As many times as is necessary to make sure that you didn't miss something that you could have done.

For me, making an accurate assessment of what your odds in the match are at any particular point in time assists me in determining whether I want to take an assassination run. If I give my assassination run a 60% chance of success, and I estimate the match to be a 50/50% match or worse, I'll take it.

i dont consider terminus a bad matchup. also, i think a lot of players look into it to much and think more than just play the game and do what you normally do. i just point at a unit of model and my goal is for it to be destroyed.

This! Play an eLylyth list, and people will hate you. You might lose more games than if you played Saeryn, but the games you win will feel like burning oil to the FACE.

No one will want to be your friend after you play this list. If you play this list against a Troll list with a Pyre Troll in it, your life will be difficult. If you play this list against PoM with Jacks + Choir, your life will be difficult. If you play this list against a caster with REALLY high ARM, your life will be difficult. Other than that, GO NUTS! Lose friends with wild abandon!

Just wondering if anyone range this list with Teraphs instead of Ravagores? They're half the points so you can take twice as many...

Which caster are you talking about, that you don't consider Terminous a bad matchup?

It's completely different to suggest that a matchup is bad for you, than to suggest that a list can't be beaten. Players make mistakes on both sides and the dice rolls heavily influence the outcomes. Still, someone is going to have an advantage due to list construction or scenario. So no, I was not suggesting that Legion can't beat Terminous. I'm saying that I think that Legion struggles against Terminous a lot of the time.

... I was trying to have a discussion independant of my own experiences... I can't even really assign a percentage of my win/loss against Terminous. Neut obviously has more experience here, and doesn't feel that the matchup is terrible. It heavily depends on the player that I play, the scenario, and if they screw up.. I do feel that if the player on the other end of the table is good, sticks to JUST camping focus and running Terminous towards your caster at opportune times... not doing anything else.. and swarms with infantry.. it can get pretty bad pretty fast. It's not like I play Thrullg to strip his focus :P

I played evayl vs terminus in the finals of adepticon hardcore.

Having played with Terminus, I know he's not that tough. Deny him souls. Remove Darragh and don't let Intrigue trigger. Know his threat range. Kill infantry and when he commits to killing a heavy, take him down.

For a tournament i could play elylth, ravagores, archers, and a sorceress but i wouldn't be able to get past swarms very easily. What would be a good list against infantry heavy lists?

I don't know where you're getting at but I notice it at the cons I go to all the time. Even knowing small little rules interactions can give you the edge.

This is rule #3 to winning. #1 know your list, #2 know your enemy. #4 when you are rolling three dice the average should not be four after seven straight attack rolls....sigh. And really rule #4 is the reason that you don't concede when in a bit of a bad spot...or in my case why my opponent shouldn't concede. There is always the dice.

First turn i took out a unit of stormfall archers, light warjack, close combat unit, and his mage hunter unit leaving him with his caster ssix inches out of range. On his turn he tried flanking but he started in a corner. Second turn i walked my ravagores second turn used feat and popped something like 20 with my first ravagore and killed rayvn with my second

you can and it does work but it gets expensive in cash after a while
