Wow, thanks a lot to all of you!

I'm glad my army can be a source of inspiration to some of you. I'm planning on taking some pictures of the entire army once I've painted front arcs on my bane thralls, bile thralls and withershadow combine. It is kinda tedious work however, so it will be some time from now.

Finally received my warjack kit and Malice upgrade. Now I'm just awaiting the arrival of my magnets, and I'm all set to go.

I decided that I needed a second base that I canput my heavy jack on whenever I need it to be Malice. I don't like the souls coming out of his back, so I figured I add them to the base in stead. The whole base is going to be like a swirling mass of rubble and soul stuff. This is how far I 've come thus far:

Also I need to tinker a bit with the arms of the jack. The harpoon is difficult to fit as it ise, without it looking rather boring, so I'll have to cut some and sculpt some.

Yeah that base is going to be killer dude, you could add a broken pipe or two to give it more of an immediate effect, like the cobblestones and foundations are literally ripping up around him at that very second.

PG_Pszito: Thanks a lot! I bet you're awesome as well, throwing compliments around like that But that's my general feeling about this community overall. Everyone seems to be very helpful and constructive. I haven't seen anyone talk bad to or about anyone yet.

Washburn: Thanks. I actually gave it a lot of thought, but between feeling that pibes would be difficult to do, and the risk of overcrowding the base, I decided not to add any. Thanks for the suggestion none the less. Perhaps I can use it for some other project.

    dang... looking nice!

this plog is definitely an inspiring thing. makes me want to rip my cryx off the bases and start working on something a bit more to my skill level.

    Thanks a lot!

Once again, I'm glad that I can inspire some of you. If you can use any of my ideas, you're welcome to use them.

I am currently considering if I can modify the chassis of my Heavy jack. I was thinking of adding some plate to the part abov it's head, to make it look more massive. I just don't know exactly how to go about it ...

Yeah man, I see what you mean now with the skulls added - adding pipes of anything else would have made it too crowded. This looks just right, it fits the warjack very well. This really is one of the best modelling diaries on these forums man, I really like how you approach different projects. I tend to go overboard with my models sometimes but I'm really gaining a different perspective after seeing how you take a more subtle, calmer style.

I decided I wanted to add a little detail to the chassis of the jack. At first I thought that it would be cool to have the spine-like shape that's on the classic Reaper. But then I had an epiphany and thought why not make an actual spine?!
So I played around for a bit, and ended up adding both spine and some additional ornamentation. The spine is not completely finished yet, but here's some WIP shots:

The detail is made using a 50/50 mix of grey stuff and milliput yellow-grey. It's a great mix. Easy to work with and holds the details excellently.

The rivets are made by gently pushing the tip of a 0,5 mechanical pencil into the putty.

I added magnets to the feet and the base to ensure easy base-swapping and transportation.

How well do the magnets hold him on there, is there any wobble? Just curious as that's a pretty good idea as I have some trouble fitting some of my stuff in foam because of their base size.

They hold pretty well. Wobble occurs if you shake the model slightly, but when you put it on the table it's steady. The magnets I used are 5 mm wide and 1 -1,5 mm in height. I guess if you use some bigger magnets they would hold even better.

The final conversion. I've added bones to the harpoon ... It's almost like a legion of the damned warjack now, if you catch my drift.
I've magnetized most of the kit in order to have all four possibilities of Malice, Slayer, Reaper and Corrupter available. Additionally I've made some extra options for posing by adding two magnets to every shoulder joint, and two magnets to each head. In that way I can change facing on it and play around a bit with poses.

My new absolute favourite putty is, i've found out, an approximately 60/40 mix of Milliput and grey stuff. The milliput softens the putty up so it's easier to work with, and the grey stuff makes the mix tacky so it's easy to stick to surfaces. Both putties are hard when they harden, unlike greenstuff, so it stays in shape and remains firm. I can really recommend it!

cool conversion work, inspiration-ally making me want to pull my cryx from the creepy depths and give them un-life once more.

Malice's shared base is gloriously cryxie as well as those added details.
