    Damiano (+6)
    - Nomad 6
    - Nomad 6

Alexia and the Risen 5 (10 models)
Boomhowler and Co 9 (10 models)
    Kayazy Assassins 8 (10 models)
    - Underboss 2
    Steelhead Halberdiers 6 (10 models)
Aiyana and Holt 4 (2 models)
    Eiryss2 3
    Gorman 2
    Madelyn 2
    Reinholdt 1
    Rhupert 2

    51 models, 50 points.

There are four units with 10+ people in them, and one of those units can grow. Kayazy, Boomhowler, and the Halberds are quite capable of killing things without much support. Kayazy and Boomhowler's are excellent tarpits (DEF 16 in melee, 4+ tough respectively). The two Nomads are cheap beat sticks. The Risen can get up to a massive 21 models (including Alexia); that many models with tough (from Rhupert) can absolutely jam an enemy army to a standstill. Aiyana has a nice damage buff, and Holt is a pair of accurate hand cannons. The solos fill their typical support rolls: Rhupert buffs up units, Madelyn moves people when necessary, Eiryss2 strips upkeeps, and Gorman can rust jacks or toss acid bombs into units or blind casters.

The army can grind out with an attrition fight until the shot at the assassination appears. Death March from Damiano buffs accuracy with +2 Mat, making even the cheap Steelheads Mat 7 with Mat 9 on the charge. Damiano's feat bumps up the army's STR for better hitting power: Boomhowler and Kayazy threaten with P+S 15's, Steelheads show P+S 14 before CMAs, and the Nomads are up to P+S 20. The feat even gives the additional bonus of bonus armor to make the army stay standing for a while longer. Alternatively, the feat can be used early to help survive an alpha strike or the counter punch to an alpha strike.

I cant win my own challenges, but my 50 point list here is this:

    - Old Witch of Khador
    > Scrapjack
    >Juggernaut

    - 4 Battle Mechaniks
    10 Kossite Woodsmen
    10 Kossite Woodsmen
    Kovnik Joe
    Mortar
    Mortar
    10 Winter Guard Riflemen
    10 Winter Guard riflemen
    10 Winter Guard Riflemen.

To be honest, the reason I made this list was for the 4 5" Aoes that damage anyone who runs through it as well as the feat and what that would be like against the other forces placed here :P Also how many models could scrapjack get to in one turn against them? :P
Looking forward to Epic Vlad on his Battle Cattle.

Adeptis Rahn, Tier 3 Charge of the Battle Mages

    Model Name Points # Models
    Adeptis Rahn +6 1
    -Phoenix 10 1
    -Sphinx 7 1
    Arcanist (free w/tier) 1
House Shyeel Battle Mages 5 6
House Shyeel Battle Mages 5 6
    House Shyeel Magister 2 1
    House Shyeel Magister 2 1
    House Shyeel Magister 2 1
    Houseguard Halberdiers 7 10
    -Halberdier Officer %Standard 2 2
    Houseguard Halberdiers 7 10
    Houseguard Halberdiers 7 10
    Total 50 51

Rahn is a solid caster in and of himself, but when he gets a hold of an arc node and a bunch of his battle mage drinking buddies it's on like Donkey Kong. I gave Rahn two heavies to get his next tier bonus, the Phoenix for an arc node and all-around beefy jack. The Sphinx is mostly there for it's ranged gun and having it assist in an assassination run or against a target I need my battle mages or Rahn to hit. It holds it's own in melee considering it's points with the Arcanist backing it up.

Two squads of Battle Mages to give Rahn's feat some extra oomph, or open a decent charge lane. The Halbs are there en-masse to provide a massive screen for the mages and Rahn without blocking LOS. One unit up front with the UA to provide some extra damage from their mini-feat on a charge as well as keep them up a bit further with Polarity shield on to almost guarantee they get the charge off. The Halbs also provide a lot of melee support for each other with CMAs on tougher (and tougher to hit) targets and also take some of the pain of anti-spell hate away.

The list is a brick marching up the field in shield wall which will shrug off a lot of AOE damage (though with this much melee it will be susceptible to continuous effects and sprays). However the battle mages are immune to blast and Rahn's Force Barrier spell should send AOEs off in relatively harmless directions.

The only major weak point I see in the list is against high-POW sprays. It bypasses the anti-AOE abilities that the list contains and will hit a number of models considering how infantry heavy the list is. The counter the list has is the front line of halberdiers engaging the sprayers post-haste.

    System: Warmachine
    Faction: Cygnar
    Casters: 1/1
    Points: 50/50

    Commander Coleman Stryker (*6pts)
    * Avenger (9pts)
    * Ol' Rowdy (9pts)
Alexia Ciannor & the Risen (Alexia and 9 Risen Grunts) (5pts)
Steelhead Halberdiers (Leader and 9 Grunts) (6pts)
Steelhead Heavy Cavalry (Leader and 4 Grunts) (10pts)

Sword Knights (Leader and 9 Grunts) (6pts)
    Archduke Alain Runewood (3pts)
Gorman di Wulfe, Rogue Alchemist (2pts)

Between the Avenger, Rowdy and Stryker, nothing is standing. The sword knigt hug the jacks, and the steelheads stick together for the flank bonuses on their knocked down foes. And with this many bodies on the field, how do you not take Alexia? Armies immune to knockdown and with a lot of incorporeal could be a problem, but I think the jacks could clear out bile thralls to keep the troops safe.

It may work better with pHaley and two avengers if I can scare up another point (maybe drop runewood for rupert). Stopping enemies from charging would be very important for the SKs althoug a wall of risen could help that.
I would rather see people be creative in ways I do not like than boring in ways I approve of.

51 model Tier 4 Blaize list. There are 47 living faction models begging to die on Blaize's feat turn. Sure there are tricks to counter this list (as with any) but the options are to risk ignoring the tide of units or activating Blaize Megazord mode.

I'm actually in the process of collecting this list as I want to see how it does.

Mage Hunter Strikeforce (Leader and 9 Grunts)
    Mage Hunter Commander

Mage Hunter Strikeforce (Leader and 9 Grunts)

    Arcanist

    50 pts and 60 models.

For the most part building on Ozzys strenght on the feat turn where i then have 21 mage hunters, 11 riflemen, ozzy and hypnos to shoot with.

Having a wall of halberdiers in front with quicken on them gives me a shield walled unit with high def vs shooting and good speed to move up the field to tie up the enemy while the rest of the army advances.

Arcanist for hypnos repair and the one focus he needs for boosting hit roll.

Soulless escorts on my font line units to negate magic a bit and to give me some magical weapons beside hypnos and ozzy himself.

This list will work well i think with ozzys shooty feat that gives boosted dmg , and the spells he has thta gets mage hunters there fast and deadly (quicken and shatterstorm.. the latter is very deadly under the feat)

    biggest drawback:

Not much that i can see, i have anti jack medicine, i can crack high arm with hallies comibined and hypnos, stealth is prob the biggest issue i have here, but with a surplus of hallies i can run them up and hold stleath in place.

As a bonus, it's actually a pretty decent list.

its not the highest model count. but its a list with no drawbacks, a list you can take to a tournament and win if played correct. warriors with ua are your center piece to block los/charge to all your important stuff. other warriors run up left and right of your army. with initial hoof it on all warriors from tier 2 your army stands in your opponents half of the field end of turn 1. pygs are your tarpit with potential to wreck serious face. krielstone negates most weaknesses krielwarriors have, blasts, pow 10 ranged attacks, continuous effects and so on. fellcallers give you some extra support outside of grissels feat and combined with the 2 beasts some cute ranged support. cabers with animus, frevor, heroic ballad and if needed calamity eat heavies just fine.

I'd submit one for Legion but I've already got an entry for Retribution in. Bethayne with Hex Hunters or Rhyas with a truckload of Nyss Legionnaires and Swordsmen would be very entertaining.

That is not my intention. I am very much going for off the wall and out of the box thinking. I mean most hordes casters dont *need* more than 2 beasts for their full fury complement. Maybe try to maximise things other than beasts and you may be surprised by the results.

Also, feel free to submit more than 1 list! Just dont spam the thread :P

Infantrymachine is so last season. Infantryhordes and Warjackmachine are the new hottnes!

Jarl Skuld, Devil Of Thornwood (*6pts)
    * Troll Impaler (5pts)
    * Mulg the Ancient (12pts)
    * Trollkin Runebearer (2pts)
Cylena Raefyll & Nyss Hunters (Cylena and 9 Grunts) (10pts)
Pyg Burrowers (Leader and 9 Grunts) (6pts)
Pyg Bushwackers (Leader and 9 Grunts) (8pts)
Trollkin Fennblades (Leader and 9 Grunts) (8pts)
    * Trollkin Fennblade Officer & Drummer (2pts)
    Fell Caller Hero (3pts)

    50p, 47 models.

If I really needed to go over 50 models, I could swap Mulg for Mauler and take some cheap crap to fill last models (Bonegrinders or Whelps for example). But in this list I preferred failing the condition slightly (it's only three models!), but having a list I've actually played, tested and liked a lot.
It's fast (Quickened Fennblades are SPD8, Nyss SPD7 and the rest have AD), it has nice shooting elements (Nyss, Bushwackers), but also melee elements (Fennblades). And Mulg comes to wipe if something proves to be to hard for Fennblade/Nyss/Burrower swords. I also hate playing brick type armies, but in this list every unit can work kinda independently, taking some buffs here and there. No need to for a huge, slow-moving brick of doom.
    Me like.

50 models on the button. Swordsmen and Nihilators are pretty decent, and you have the molik bullet. Karns walking 11" with reach and 2 sidesteps, the gladiators making him a path, or giving him rush to charge the same distance or trample. Time the feat right and you can swarm the opponent with all of your troops, then bring back any that die. you have up to 9 fury to reave, you can cycle savagery with marketh and also can get a free upkeep if something dies close to marketh. Beast handlers do what they do, which is make beasts better. You could drop molik and marketh and go for the double archidon also, but its probably not as good a list. get makeda close enough to the opposing caster and use carnage and moliks job just got easier if he has the threat range also.

    Here goes then!

    Model(s) Cost # Models
Rhyas, Sigil of Everblight +6 1
    -Angelius 9 1
    -Harrier 2 1
    -Shredder 2 1
    Blighted Legionnaires 6 10
    -Captain Farilor & Standard 3 2
    Blighted Legionnaires 6 10
    Blighted Swordsmen 8 10
    -Abbot & Champion 3 2
    Blighted Swordsmen 8 10
    Scather Crew 3 3
    Scather Crew 3 3
    Shepherd 1 1
    Shepherd 1 1

This is a list designed for speed, alpha strike damage, and to make sure Rhyas' feat, Tide of Blood, lives up to it's name. Rhyas assists with getting her swarm up into melee fast with Dash (and helps them ensure the charge with an improved threat range), and makes sure that they can slice through the entire front line, and clean up the second line as well.

I chose an Angelius for it's brutal charge and Rhyas can make it even better if needed. The Harrier and Shredder are there mostly for their animi, when Rhyas goes in for the kill the Harrier makes sure the first blow will be the last.

The infantry feeds off Rhyas' Dash spell as well as benefits from the UAs on two of the units. The Swordsmen get Overtake, and the Legionnaires have Vengeance for speed boosts and penetration into the enemy lines. With the infantry having either CMA or being weapon masters there's a potential to do some solid damage even against high arm targets.

The Scather Crews are there to provide a little cover fire and disrupt enemy formations.

2x Shepherds are there not so much for fury management but for healing damage from transfers, and with Rhyas playing up close to the front line I'd expect them to stay busy.

The weak points of the list are threefold. As with any infantry-spam type list AOEs and sprays are nasty and this list is relatively low ARM which makes the AOEs particularly effective. With no way to negate or mitigate (aside from defensive line on the legionnaires) AOEs a heavy AOE list would demolish this list. Second, this list does nothing to capitalize on Legion's love of Eyeless Sight or Pathfinder. A heavy terrain board would see action similar to Thermopylae, with Legion playing the role of Xerxes (not the caster). Finally, Rhyas would need to save as much fury for transfers as possible. Her endgame assassination would be brutal and the army could get her there, but she's susceptible to taking damage if she's up far enough to maximize the synergy she's bringing to the infantry.

    2 Issues:
Firstly, that list is illegal for SteamRoller because you need to use ALL of your jack points.
Secondly, Scrap Thralls are Field Allowance 3. So the most you can have is 9 via the 3-for-1 per warcaster.

In addition, the Challenge was only "over 50 models" not the "most models" in a list.

    Alright!

The Second of these rapid fire challenges has closed (i didnt really talk about it in the OP, but i try to do 2 a day, one early in the morning, one late at night.)

I have to say, the first in had a very nice list, one which would terrify me to face:

Sanctjud and his Cryxian 99 model list of Horror led by the Coven!

But i would like to have a second place, with PG_ Deranith and his Legion beast-light force.

I enjoy seeing when people go against the grain and the current forumspeak to create something that i think would be formidable.

So yes, the second question has closed and a new one is in the OP! Golly Gee Wizz this is fun!
Looking forward to Epic Vlad on his Battle Cattle.

    I'll give it a whirl:

    pIrusk +6
    Spriggan 10
    wardog 1

    Greatbears 5
BD IFP max + UA 10
    Kossite Max 10
    WGI max +UA 8
    3x WG rocketeers 3
    Kovnik Joe 2
    Aiyana and Holt 4
    Widow Makers 4
    Saxon Oric 2
    Rheinholdt 1

    50 points, 52 models.

Irusk is an excellent infantry caster with his feat and spells. Take a solid swiss army Jack, and fill up with the excellent khador infantry who can most benifit from spells and feat. People may be critical of lack of Kayazy, but I prefer IFP and WG (plus they WGI help fill up the challenge) throw in excellent solo's to handle other situations like incorporeal and terrain, widow makers for support, great bears as a second wave, lowly Reinholdt for reload on Irusks gun, kossites (because who expects tough kossites that can actually hit something showing up on a flank on feat turn) and you have a solid list that can handle alot.

Bah! I just finished my list for the second challenge! Oh well, here it is anyway, and it sort of fits for the third as well:

Bethayne, Voice of Everblight (+3 WB points)
    - Belphagore (free)
    - Shredder (2)
    - Ravagore (10)

    3 Warspears (5)
    2 Spell Martyrs (2)
    10 Blighted Swordsmen (8)
    - Abbot & Champion (3)
    10 Grotesques (6)
    10 Hex Hunters (8)
    Scather Crew (3)
    Scather Crew (3)
    Max Spawning Vessel (3)

    54 models, 50 points

The list controls the board through scather templates. Between the ravagore and the 2 Scather Crews, the list can put out 3 a turn (plus despoiler templates around B&B). The grotesques are primarily there to run into place so they can be shot for precise placement of where the templates need to go.

The warspears take position to accept enemy charges against things that can get through the templates. With ashen veil, tenacity, and set defense they are effectively defense 17 against charges. Then, counter-charges can happen from the hex hunters and swordsmen.

With so many infantry around, the spawning vessel should have no trouble popping out a lesser every turn. Especially since I will be shooting my own troops on a regular basis.

The list has limited ways to deal with heavy armor. The hex hunters are decent on feat turn, and the swordsmen are decent on a charge. The hope is to use gallows to drag heavies into range where my troops can get the charge, or else just run interference with hex hunters (using their spells to stop tramples). The ravagore is also decent in melee against heavies, though that is obviously not the primary purpose for it in the list.

Octavius, I think it might help if you put the new challenge in both the opening post as well as the winning player post, as it will make it more likely to be seen.

As far as control, I generally define that as limiting your opponent's options as a whole.

    Void Seer Mordikaar
    -Cyclops Shaman
    -Cyclops Shaman
    -Razorworm
    -Basilisk Krea
    -Cyclops Brute

    -Full Cetrati + Vorkesh
    -Min Paingivers
    -Tyrant Commander and Standard
    -Extoller Soulwarden
    -Extoller Soulwarden
    -Void Spirit
    -Void Spirit
    -Agonizer
    -Orin Midwinter
    -Swamp Gobbers

You can't cast spells on anything important, you can't cast spells near my army, you can't get souls off of my guys, you can't hide behind forests, clouds, or rough terrain, your stealth doesn't work, and you can't kill anything important with blast damage. You can't knock my caster down and if necessary target him with spells, or slam my battle line out of formation. If you manage to get a debuff on something I can turn it off, if you kill a Cetrati or two I can resurrect them, your incorporeal models can be shot or punched, if there's a charge lane you can't free strike my kill piece, and you can't hide your caster from my guns beyond being out of range.

I'm not sure how exactly I'm going to kill you though...

Well, I did once play against a 75 model Cryx force (Skarre1). It went... poorly... for me.

I'm going to sidestep the obvious Haley2 feat turn list and instead go with my primary faction again: Protectorate. Whenever I think of control, I automatically reach for my boy Hierarch Severius. Haley's got some mean 'jack control and a brutal feat; Sevy2 plays havoc with the infantry game. Alone he's got: a Feat that takes over Grunts (or burns the Undead - perfect for carving out annoying solos and UAs since it's boostable damage), an arc-able gun that can clear up to 4 dudes a turn, Fear of God, and Influence. He can strip upkeeps and animi through Hex Blast. He can make himself or something else untargetable by spells and get a +2 DEF boon for their troubles (put this on the Choir, prevent Venoms). Heck, he can even lay a hit if he needs to through Creator's Wrath. His bond frustrates charging models. What makes him nasty, though, is the ever-present fear that one wrong misstep spells assassination via Reckoner thanks to Awareness.

    Hierarch Severius
    -Blessing of Vengeance
    -Castigator
    -Reckoner
    -Reckoner

    Hierophant
    Choir (min)
    Errants (max) + UA
    Covenant
    Vassal
    Vassal
    Visgoth Rhoven & Guard
    Wracks

Warjacks: Most of the choices should be obvious. Blessing is there to arc for Sevy2, since he hates the front lines thanks to being old as dirt. You don't need Blessing, since Sevy2 has only one damage spell for BoV's affinity, but I had a point and favored a high POW Hex Blast over a Mechanic. Fear of God all but shuts down infantry squads and Influence means that Reach models can never space the way they want to, for fear of beating each other to death (this is a lot of fun on low DEF Shield Wall units). Your opponent simply cannot do what they want to or space how they'd like, ever.

The Reckoners should be obvious. They're there to keep the opposing 'caster over 20" away from them at any time, else they can realistically end the game. Warlocks are more resilient, but what Warlock likes getting plugged up to 4 times by POW 15s, two of which are boostable? Awareness means they ignore intervening models, so suddenly LoS is irrelevant. With both players outright knowing that, it dictates your opponent's entire army and how they move.

The Castigator is zone control. He's the Protectorate's only 'jack with 2x Open Fists. He's there to pitch things out of zones. Frankly, I'm iffy on him and wondered whether I should drop him for some Daughters (who are brutal with Holy Ward), but opted for more Heavy control. Plus, if ignored, he'll fry infantry.

Infantry are more obvious. Choir prevents you from doing whatever ranged abilities you're good at, be they Magic or Shooting. The Covenant prevents knockdown/stationary and spell casting (actually, this entire list basically laughs at magic). Hierophant and Wracks power Sevy's control machine. Vassals enable Reckoner death or ensure survival through Enliven. Rhoven lets something ignore Stealth, perfect for when you want to arc Fear of God onto Kayazy (this is fun - do this) or plug Denny1 from a mile away. Finally, Errants just don't let your opponent kill what they want to kill and also can't be targeted by spells. They take an inordinate concentration of forces to remove. By that point, the Castigator's probably wandered in range with that manic gleam in his eye.
Grab your pick, grab your shovel, head on down to the Amish rumble!

    Just a quick idea:

    System: Warmachine
    Faction: Protectorate of Menoth
    Casters: 1/1
    Points: 50/50
    Harbinger of Menoth (*5pts)
    * Reckoner (8pts)
    * Sanctifier (9pts)
    Avatar of Menoth (11pts)
Exemplar Errants (Leader and 9 Grunts) (8pts)
    * Exemplar Errant Officer & Standard Bearer (2pts)
Holy Zealots (Leader and 9 Grunts) (6pts)
    * Holy Zealot Monolith Bearer (2pts)
Visgoth Juviah Rhoven & 2 Honor Guard (4pts)
    Eiryss, Angel of Retribution (3pts)
Gorman di Wulfe, Rogue Alchemist (2pts)

both main combat units can not be targeted by spells, same with the jacks. Have to worry about Souls and Flare/Ashen Veil from the reckoner. Gorman and Eiryss are just jerks, though you could swap gorman for a vassal for enliven shenanigans.

oooh.. challenge nr 3 is a gooden one

    alright

    Retribution.
    Tier 4 list

    Rahn
    Manticore
    manticore
    manticore
    Gorgon
    battle mages
    battle mages
    battle mages
    battle mages
    magister
    magister
    magister
    arcanist
    arcanist (free with tier)
34 models. only 2 of them witch cannot "control" a board.

Battle mages and magister + rahn has push , pull, telekinesis, aoe control and aoe dmg spells that prevents the enemy to clump up and ofc polarity shield for no charging my front line unit/jack

The manticores can all put out 3 3" aoe that makes a pow 12 hit on anyone getting into it, spread that out right and you got a 12 inch area( 3x3 + 1 inch between the aoes) where you get a world of hurt if you walk into it.

The gorgon can both shot something to give itself polarity shield vs that target or walk into melee with one ore more units and thus preventing them from moving anywhere untill they finish of the gorgon.

    strenghts:
plays to rahns feat and denial way of playing, 32 models with magical weapons/attacks that also have spells to push pull to open lanes, move opponent from objectives. 3 warjacks that can put up pow 23 hits and control the board with aoe that remains in play for a round.

battle mages can knock back with beatback or if crit hit with the range spell knock down.

Magisters same thing only better range on the push effects, and whip snap can also be used on own models to gain 3" more.

Decent vs stealth due to aoe from rahn and maticores.

And 90% of the army is pretty much immune to blast dmg and have added def vs shooting

    Main flaws:
when facing spell immunity i have to get battle mages into melee/jacks into melee, but usually not a issue since both are good at both shooting and beating face, and with the push and move stuff this army can do it`s quite a fast army.

That is the problem with trying to make a list with under-utilized models when I don't have references handy. Oh well, it was a silly list in the first place.

I edited the original list to change the two teraphim into a single ravagore. That cuts it down to "only" three scather templates, but probably improves the list all in all.
