How are these cogs? Are they good to have? Does the template end at the outside of the template or the inside?

Looking forward to Epic Vlad on his Battle Cattle.
While I appreciate the industriousness, of the guy trying to find and fill a market need.
I can't see what this brings to the table that rings/hoops do not; for a cheaper price.

These a basically the same thing and depending on where you live they might get there easier than from the UK for the firestorm stuff.
That's cool that you like the rings, but there's nothing wrong with something a little snazzier. I like the cogs, except that they are resin. To me that makes me wonder how they can handle being left in your car for a day in the sun, etc. Being from the UK, I'm sure that's not something that goes into those guys playtesting. However living in Texas...it's important. I have gone with an acrylic alternative.
They look pretty nifty I am guessing the circle ends in the inner part of the cog
Cryx are tough guys. Tough guys wear pink.
I have ravyns AD walls, they stay in my car all the time, I have not had a problem. It's just I can find better things to spend money on in their website.
Like Deo said it is a question of taste and money, I choose money.

Exactly, AD are acrylic. The ones in question are resin.
I purchased the cogs a few days ago.
There might be cheaper options out there but the cogs have two majors advantages:
- Customisible. You can paint forest or smoke effect on them, etc.
- Advertised as appropriately sized AOE templates for warmachine. It was super easy to order them alongside a bunch of new models I was already buying. I wasnt sure if I could find an appropriate 3" circle template elsewhere and I sure as hell didnt know where to look. The cogs were a safe and easy purchase.
The acrylic stuff looks pretty cool but presumably it would be irritatingly expensive to buy that stuff and get it sent to the UK. A non-obvious but practical advantage of the cogs is that firestorm games do freebie worldwide shipping.
