    Default Another new gator

'Ello everyone. I'm a Tyranid player who's been watching a few of my friends jump to WM/H..and I'm thinking about it too, now that I've seen the gators! I don't have a lot of cash at my disposal, but it seems a lot easier to start up a small force for skirmishes here (I'm looking at you, GW >>). I would love to do an all-Gators deal, maybe ally it with another Hordes group later. What's an easy way to get started, for a reasonable price?

Warmachine/Hordes is a great game to start small with, and i'm happy to see you choosing Blindwater as your first faction. They are a lot of fun to play and they look awesome.

Starting off you're going to need a Warlock, Blindwater has three to choose from, the easiest to learn with is probably Bloody Barnabas or Maelock the Dreadbound.

You'll need some beasts for them to run, A Wrastler, Spitter and Snapper is always a good starting point and will give you a good toolbox. You can play with just the warlock and beasts to begin with if you want to just get the hang of the game.

Lastly, you'll almost certainly want to pick up a unit of Gatormen Posse. They are a fabulous unit and the cornerstone of our army.

After that, pick up other models and units as you take interest in them. You can build as big as you want and play big games, or stay small and play skirmishes, or just own a lot of models to play skirmishes a lot of different ways.

Have fun and welcome to the Congregation!

For starters I think Barnabas is better, since Gators are pretty melee-focused and he can bring everything near the enemy without getting shot.

The beast-combo above is great, you'll end up using them pretty often, so you won't waste cash on anything that "might" be good.

    Good guide here "Lack".
"Throwing Farrow Brigands into a nasty infantry is not a sacrifice, but rather providing your opponent with bacon."

"Some idiot said, Barnabas will never ascend to godhood. After the battle, the same idiot stared at him and wimmered: Oh my god!"

Welcome to Gators. I'm a new Gator player myself having only played two games with them as of yet, but I must say that they are awesome I actually think they are a great faction to start with, despite them not having a battlebox, since the model count will be quite low, even in larger games. As they are a hordes faction they will automatically include at least a couple of heavies and light beasts, and as our primary infantry (Gatormen posse) is on medium bases, you will most likely be good to go with just a full unit of 5 until you hit the 35 or 50 point games
