Bethayne - 50pt

I was reading a post in the community forum where someone had asked us to rate our casters - I was surprsied Beth got ranked as one of our "Second tier" right under our top according to Neut. I was always curious to play Beth and after doing some research decided to try and make a list up.

I don't have gators but I think a posse would be an amazing infantry choice for her - but here is a list so far that can be worked. Please let me know what you think.

I just picked her up this Sunday and the 2 games I've played with her so far have been really fun. She's weird to build a list for though. The things I'd think about in your list are the forsaken and the deathstalker. You have so much infantry clearing between Bethayne, despoiler, and your infantry that I think they might be a little overkill. The Forsaken I can see if you're looking to threaten someone camping focus/fury but I tend to use them to clear the infantry out. The deathstalker is sort of in the same boat. Although Blood Thorn could be really fun on her. The other thing is you've already got a Sorc on Helion, maybe think about an Angel? Free charges are pretty nice. It's not something I'd say definitely go for but it's something to think about. I'm having similar issues trying to build a 50 pt list for this caster. Part of me sees the Sorc in the list and decides 2 Angels is the way to go. But the Scythean overall is a better beatstick. Then I start thinking there's so much infantry in here why not try to fit in a Vessel because it's sure to be fed some corpses and I totally lose coherency for what I want to build in the list.

Cut one forsaken or even 2 for a shepherd to handle the ravagore. You can cut the legionnaires to add in striders with UA or gator men posse.

Striders + UA would be target for bloodthorn I assume and definitely ashen veil on the hh

That's right. Garonne are very strong with her though.

I find myself looking at a similar list, and wonder whether the Sorceress is worth it for the feat turn, especially without a shredder animus to protect her.

I usually find myself wanting a shredder in every B+B list, and in any list that doesnt have a carnivean too!

What is your usual task for the gatormen posse, Neut? I find Hex Hunters to be perfectly capable of taking out most infantry in one turn, or blasting a heavy to pieces during feat turn.

Also, in the light of colossals hitting the table now, what about putting in a Naga?

I feel that this list can go in 3 different directions. Take a look at the tier its not much you have to do for it to be tier 4 list. And making people pay more for their spells turn one is really funny, even if its not... really great its at least fun
Or you can take away the sorc and hellion, one forsaken and add 1 DS and a max spawning vessel and a shepherd. Then you have a more of a grind orientated list.
Or you can make the Legionnaires, sorc and hellion and a forsaken into Striders with ua, shredder and a shepherd. That gives the list more of a hit and run element.

Beth will never be the caster I bring against a colossal. eVayl, eLylyth, saeryn and eThag will all do that better. What she shines against is infantry hordes. I still smile when i think of a match i watched with Beth against trolls where there was 30 dead trolls in a round
