    Default Interaction between Absyonia's "Playing God" and Typhon's "Multiple Heads"

    Hi there,

    I'm wondering what happens if I cast the Playing God spell on Typhon; specifically, the part of it which gives the target's melee weapons Open Fist. Typhon's card lists only one melee weapon, but he can make melee attacks with each one of his heads per turn (we'll assume that he has no crippled aspects). Can I hypothetically do any of the following;

    • Make a two-handed throw using two heads
    • Have Typhon lock an enemy weapon with one head and attack with the other two heads (on the same turn or on different turns)
    • Make a throw or lock with one head, then have the other two heads make attacks

    Or is it the case that Typhon counts as only having one melee weapon, so he only gets one Open Fist, and can only make multiple attacks if they're his initial attacks?

    Not sure about the throw but locks are power attacks so you lose all initial head attacks.

    Okay... but if you maintain a lock, you can still attack with your other weapons, right? What if I lock a weapon on turn 3, and then maintain the lock on turn 4 -- can I still make attacks with the other two heads?

    Yes. Due in part to Infernal postings, Typhon behaves in every respect as if he had 6 weapons on his card, and a special rule ordering him to pick any three for his initials.

    Okay, I think that makes sense. Can I get a link to those rulings just to make sure? I trust you, but I have a sneaking suspicion that this ruling is something I'll need to print out and bring with me to any tourney where I run Absylonia and Typhon. I love running them together, and I'm very throw-happy...

    Sadly, I currently lack a citation. There was just a thread on this board about locking Typon's weapons, and no one provided the citation so I wasn't able to toss it on my wiki (Typhon has an Infernal override making it so even if you lock his Bite he can still use it, just only twice - same with his Breath). If anyone can find me the relevant Infernal post providing the original override, I'd be much obliged.

    The *only* thing you can bring to a tourney to win your case is an Infernal post, which will require a color printer unless the TO is a regular on here and recognises the Infernals. That's why I try to keep the wiki up to date, so anyone with a smartphone has easy access. You're going to need one, too - just like the case where he can Bite despite Bite being locked, being able to Bite despite *locking* with the Bite can only happen with an Infernal overriding the rules for him. My best advice is to wait until someone finds the citation or you luck out and get a fresh purple post about it.

    Thank you! Wikied.

    OP: Linked citation does NOT answer your question. Assuming no other Infernal overrides, you have until I track down Valander for this to be the correct response: When Typhon uses his bite to lock an enemy's weapon, the bite is occupied locking and cannot be used. I am 100% certain this will be overridden in the same way Macallan overrode being locked, but it looks like the override hasn't happened yet.

    Walking into Mordor is less risky...

    (Locking meanwhile because while I enjoy some humor, I don't want to have to come back and clean out a bunch of posts, including some from me. )
