i just saw where the Kraken was put on the main page... sneaky Privateer slid it in between the Avenger and the Griffon...



The Kraken ranks among the most terrifying necromechanikal fabrications ever loosed upon the mortals of the Iron Kingdoms. Lashing out with grasping tentacles, it snatches up men and stuffs them within the grease-slicked orifices of its shell. The captured have but a moment of terror to consider their lightless environs before their bodies and life energies are extracted by a necromantic furnace that fuels the Kraken’s engines and armament. The Kraken was conceived as the perfect Cryxian engine of death—a machine that could strike from below with overwhelming force, devour its victims, refuel itself on their carcasses, and then vanish beneath the waves.

upon a closer inspection, it seems to be priced at $124.99 ... i don't know if the cheaper price is a good thing or a bad thing.
what do you guys think?

Fluff said that the Kraken is supposed to be a 'lighter' Colossal, but more numberous than the other factions.
So I guess the price tag fits.
But, I'd really need to know what it does for sure before putting the money down....hell, I don't own Deathjack yet....

I will most likely get one simply because I like the idea of a jack that uses victims bodies as fuel (seems to fit cryx very well). I will have to see if i cant model in another 2 tentacle arms since a kraken is based on the word octopus and therefore it just needs 8 limbs (not including guns). I'm hoping to make it so they are feeding bodies into the furnace, but I'm still not certain i can model the arms well enough, we'll see i guess.

Size comparison shot with the other two colossals from someone over on the F&F forums. It's not nearly as small as I had thought it was. I guess the shape just makes it look far more compact and less imposing.

i don't own Death Jack either and have no intention of ever putting it on the table, may buy it to paint as it looks pretty good. Perhaps we should start a club of our own called 'Cryx players that don't own the Death Jack and don't plan on getting it." As for the Kraken it looks too good to not buy, i'll grab one and then work out how to use it or fit it in my force later!

I resisted getting DJ for a long time, just because I wanted to learn to play Cryx without him. Now I own him, but he rarely hits the table outside my eSkarre list. I will desperately want a Kraken, but the price tag will keep me from picking one up for some time. I still don't have a wraith engine ... don't want one to play with ... I just like the model and think it looks wicked when painted well.

I've dismembered my DJ to build a new Terminus but I technically own him. That Kraken is going in my collection ASAP and then in my Terminus list because finally there's something large enough to draw attention away from the man himself.

All that open space on the carapace is begging for conversions and freehand. I expect to see some insane modelling pics coming out for it, and my own brain is churning with ideas.

I haven't really gotten far with it. I've made and discarded five different ideas so far but this one is showing some promise. The legs are giving me trouble and the wings still require work (I'm making them really tattered but the metal is hard to work with).

He's still my fav and I hope to make him great again. I think Kracken might be the answer, but need to see his rules. I cant wait...

If there was an arc node on the Kraken we would have heard about it by now, seeing as it was run with the coven for the battle report and all.
Add me to the list of people who will pick it up regardless of knowing what it does; I've been wanting a 'kraken' model ever since I first fielded Terminus' tier list, then this lovely piece of work got announced.
Hopefully it is considered a 'non-character warjack' for tier list purposes.

I'll end up getting one just cause I'm into collecting as much as playing. I own the Wraith Eng put it in a few games but am still trying to find a niche for it it's just too big a squishy for it to be really threatening and the only thing that I like it lays down clouds and has a ginormus base (that was until the kraken).

As for the DJ, it's the best jack in the game I don't know what would be better than him, Behemoth is pretty cool I will admit but I find the DJ more useful. I own one and he is very useful even when he doesn't get into much of a ruckus. I find most players I play worry about him more than anything else on the table and actually submit resources to the destruction of the DJ cause which frees up a lot of things for me. I only use him in higher point games though.
