    Default Witch Doctors: How to get them in

    So with the somewhat eminent release of the Witch Doctors, I've been considering how and when to actually fit them into my lists. If other gator players are similar to me, our lists are fairly static and don't allow for a lot of 'wiggle room'. This made me seriously consider when, where, and how to best fit them in with the different casters. Hopefully this thread will allow all of us to exchange ideas and maximize their usage. Obviously "MAKE GATORS TOUGH GG" is ideal, but...how do we fit them in? How many are too many? What do we take out for them? I'm going to assume all lists discussed are at 50 points for simplicity sake.

    When I run Barnabas, it's non-tier. I'll run 2 GMP, and the usual assortment of beasts. I find I want to run rather brick-style with him. The main adjustments are between solos and Bog Trogs. Generally I will take a min unit of trogs, and divide the remaining points between Croak Hunters, Feralgiests, and a Thrullg.

    When using Calaban, I almost always run tier 3. This means I have, again, the standard assortment of beasts. Wrongeye and Snapjaw with a Spitter or snapper, 2 GMP, the bonegrinders, and a feralgiest. This doesn't really allow any adjustments to be made without swapping the Spitter on Wrongeye for a snapper...but the cheaper, AD Spitter is so nice.

    Maelok becomes even trickier, especially in non-tier. I WANT to run 3 GMP with him, but more often find myself using 2 max. I'll use the old Thrullg, and a Totem Hunter. There are a few more points to move around here, but with Revive it seems slightly less important to have them in the list than it would be with the others. I am also fond of sticking Pendrake into this list over the others.

    So, fellow Blindwater players...where do you fit yours in and what do you remove for them?

    At 50 points, it will not be that hard at all to get two Witchdoctors into the list. At 35, I think one will be enough...

    That said, my take on 50 with Witchdoctors :

    >insert warlock of choice< {+6}
    ~ Bull Snapper - 3
    ~ Ironback Spitter - 2{8}
    ~ Blackhide Wrastler - 9

    Witchdoctor - 3
    Witchdoctor - 3
    Wrong Eye & Snackjaw - 9
    ~ Bull Snapper - 3

    max Gatorman Posse - 9
    max Gatorman Posse - 9

    With the WD in there, you can have even more fun with Flying Gator brand shenanigans!!

    Been playtesting this at 35

    Maelok teir 3
    Maelok -6
    Wrastler 9
    Bull Snapper x2 6
    Boneswarm 4
    2x Posse 18
    2x Witch Doctors 4

    In theory this lets me undead tough both posses and put death pact and spiny growth on the wrastler, allowing me to keep the wrastler more in the front of the army then I usually feel safe doing. This also can maximize the defesive bonus of the feat turn.

    More importantly this lets me 2 power 16 bombs to drop on that annoying defense 16+ casters that i surround with gatormen and fail to kill.

    I like running Maelok's tier to get one in for 2 pts. They might be a bit hard to fit in at 3, but 2 is just right.

    Maelok
    - Blackhide Wrastler 9
    - Ironback Spitter 8
    - Bull Snapper 3

    Full Posse 9
    Full Posse 9
    Witch Doctor 2
    Feralgeist 1

    Also, I was informed by a Cryx player yesterday that Dominate Undead works on the Cryx battle engine. Evil possibilities.

    Or, it would be if anyone actually played with the Cryx battle engine. Now that PP nerfed eSkarre's feat to not affect it, there is little point in running it with most of the Cryx casters.
