Help Out A n00b?

Hey Folks,

because I need another game to collect like a bullet in the head (Hi Warmachine and Hordes!), I have just this very day been piqued with interest about Monsterpocalypse. However! It is completely unclear to me what is best to start with, buying-wise. It looks like prices on eBay are low right now.

What specific product names should I be looking for? Does the website have a rundown of each faction (I looked earlier, but not very hard, honestly, so I'll go back now)?

I would suggest looking over the wiki at:

this will give you a great resource to review all the monsters, units, and buildings. Then you can see what direction you want to go as far as collecting a certain Agenda or Faction. Good luck!

In addition to choosing a faction, you'll have a variety of ways to go about collecting them. Privateer made some 2 player starter boxes last year, each containing 2 random starting forces. Available factions are GUARD, Terrasaurs, Martian Menace, Planet Eaters, Shadow Sun Syndicate, and Lords of Cthul. You'll get 1 monster with ultra form, and enough units and buildings to get a lot of play out of whatever factions you get.

They supplemented that shortly after with the DMZ boxes. These contained single factions, but were not blind buys. You get 3 monsters and tonds more units.

Other than that, you can find deals on boosters and cases, but with less and less available, prices might start to climb up. You should find plenty on clearance, though.
