    Default 15pt Mohsar List

As a starter army, I hate the battlebox, as I probably would never use Kaya or an Argus at any point, so I'm just going to jump straight into 15 points. I much like the look of the Satyr and would like to keep it if possible. I am open to suggestions that might make it easier on me to play. Also, I realize Megalith is good with Mohsar, I'd rather not play him just yet.

    Mohsar - +5
    Gnarlhorn Satyr - 8
    Feral Warpwolf - 9

    Shifting Stones - 2
    -Stone Keeper - 1

I'm basing everything on models I find aethestically good looking. I probably should include a light

My favourite Battlegroup for Mohsar is Megalith, a Warpwolf Stalker and a Pureblood Warpwolf. Mohsar likes a Geomancer and/or Gallows Grove, so I'd probably keep things simple and play this:

    Mohsar
    - Warpwolf Stalker
    - Pureblood Warpwolf
    Gallows Grove

Alternatively, if you are using the new plastic Warpwolf set, could you magnetise your components so as to switch between a Feral Warpwolf and a Warpwolf Stalker? If so, this list is probably better - you might not want the Feral in the long-run with Mohsar, hence the requirement to be able to switch it to a Stalker:

    Mohsar
    - Megalith
    - Feral Warpwolf

To keep tournaments short and still have enough matches to use steamroller and determine a winner (you need 5 matches for up to 32 player) we started to play the first one or two rounds 15 points (max 7 not beast/jack and no feat (mohsar really does not mind the no-feat)).

I used two different lists so far, both with great success.

    first:
    Mohsar
    *Megalith
    *Woldwarden

Depending on whether the oppo has pathfinder or not the warden or Megalith gets mirage increasing his threat range. Sunhammer is up almost the whole match. All advise her is mainly for small point sizes, and these are often played with more jacks/beasts (in our format you have to play them). So the damage of sunhammer really adds up and our often called pillow fisted construct beasts like every help in taking out other heavies.
First round both constructs can advance/trample forward b2b and use their animi (you want to build up fury anyways). Megalith casts mirage, Mohsar casts sunhammer and pillars and advances behind the constructs. As 15 points is easy to comprehend and calculate what can/will happen, you can often leave Mohsar withour fury afterwards. The pillars and constructs with their forrest an rough terrain will protect him well enough. Pillars eat activations of your oppo and in small point matches activations are rare.
The following turns you can either just run away from your oppo and kill him by sunhammer (boring) or start to oinch him with geomancied CoS+Crevasse. Than protect the construvts always with Megaliths animus and pillars. remember You can stack pillars on top of each other and half overlapping, just as you need to eat up the enemies activations.
Except for very high armor lists, You are very hard to beat. Do not be afraid to cut yourself to maintain your fury. A few damage do not mean anything to the old man. If someone attacks him he will die anyways. Whether he is on full health or not.

The other list is a bit more aggressive:
    Mohsar
    *Megalith
    *Gorax
    Stoneward and woldstalkers

Mirage on the Woldstalkers, Megalith gives out CoS on a target for them and they kill it. The list offers one more fury (so less cutting) and more ranged threat. With CoS the shrimps can realy put the hurt on enemy heavies. Thanks to your pillars the enemy must come close to you, before he can attack. So you can often forfeit you movement to aim and use concentrated fire.

Mohsar rocks on small point sizes. (He is still one of my favorites in larger games also)

Your advice seems pretty solid, but I'm still hung up on this last part; no feat? That seems kind of broken for me for a tournament format, even if you are trying to save time. I can think of several casters who would have their power cut down pretty badly by that: Kromac, e.Krueger, both Sorschas...it would be enough to unbalance the game if they weren't expecting it, that's for sure.

I want to avoid using megalith until later points. I do like the the pureblood and stalker list. I may try that

While it is true that some caster get weaker by this, some (often the same) caster are just too strong in small point matches. Think about eCain. His feat can kill enough that matches vs him are unplayable.
Every system favors something. We chose the one that is on the low side of the power curve, so more things are playable.
