I am cross-posting this on Trollbloods list discussion forum since I would like the point of view of both types of players.
In a few weeks, I will likely be playing in a Mangled Metal/Claw & Fang tourney at my FLGS. I?ve played two whole games of Warmachine, and one of those was a Khador vs. Menoth starter boxes. I have all of the Rhulic Warjacks with both casters, and several of the Trollbloods beasts and two Warlocks.
Here's what I have for each:
Searforge Commission Trollbloods Durgen Madhammer
Gorten GrundbackCalandra Truthsayer
eHoarluk DoomshaperGhordson Avalancher
Ghordson Basher x2
Ghordson Driller
Grundback Blaster x2
Grundback Gunner x3
Wrougthammer Rockram
Dire Troll Bomber
Dire Troll Mauler x2
Mulg the Ancient (in box)
Pyre Troll (in blister)
Slag Troll (in blister)
Troll Axer
Troll Impaler
And this is what I was thinking of running with each of them.
Gorten Grundback (-7 pts) eHoarluk Doomshaper (-6 pts) * Ghordson Basher (7 pts)
* Ghordson Basher (7 pts)
* WH Rockram (8 pts)* Dire Troll Mauler (9 pts)
* Mulg the Ancient (12 pts)
I've read on some of the previous messages that the Basher is a good choice for the focus-light Gorten, and with eDoomie I really want to use Mulg because everything I've read said they are a must to play together. With the nine points left over a Mauler seems like a good fit. I'll put Mulg together this week.
Being such a rookie, I was hoping for some feedback on the lists above, some tactical advice, for playing in the format and what traps to try and avoid against things I am likely to see. Maybe I should scrap my list entirely and try something else with what I have at my disposal?
I am hoping to try whichever list out with against a friend before the tourney, so that will give me a chance to work out any bugs.
