Default Anyone working on a Constance guide for Boot Camp?

Noticed we don't have a guide for conny in the boot camp. Anyone working on one?

I'm going to start playing her with my Cygnar. And I'm thinking the elf attachement looks good as she'll be a frequesnt user of Upkeeps and casting her AOE offensive spell with greater range and an extra dice sans the lowest on the blast damage is only going to help. And with her wanting to play forward the extra 2" on spell range is rather handy and it may save you from taking a Lancet/Thorn.

I think at the moment most people are playing her tier list.

I actually think Connie is a really good second list to compliment most of our other casters. I think she is the closest we can come to running a spam of hard hitting infantry effectively. This is a great answer to hordes, while she is relatively resistant to Bethayne, eHexy and pKreuger who are great infantry clearing Hordes armies.

And in the Tier you can still marshall a hunter to junior and have a decent gun. That's how I'll probably run her. However I'm sure there are great combinations with other Cygnar stuff. I think you want to play combined arms that's when eStryker becomes a better option.

Im thinking squire is better with her. +2 inches to her control area makes crusader's call, transference, and her feat that much better.

I've honestly meant to. I've started twice and both times something else caught my attention so I did... something else. Also Slinkdawg wrote that guide to her theme force.

I've been having some great success with her lately, but still several games away from being able to do a proper writeup. Compound that with a toddler and a 6-week-old and I don't think I'll get around to it anytime soon. I'm very curious to hear what others have been doing with her, though. I don't think we even have an exploratory thread on the forums.

I'm keen to give the "Do you take the free strike or do you let me move deeper into your lines" option on the feat turn. That and coupled with a list that takes units in depth and has a distinct first and second wave.

Ok guys, what jacks do you like running with conny. Try to give your reasons in tactica format just to make things easier down the road.

Gallant for obvious reasons and perhaps a arc node if you had spare points otherwise a Hunter for a little shooting.

I play a lot of Constance. I?m not a very good player but she?s my favorite at the moment.

I tend to ignore Transference and camp with Constance. Sometimes I use Banishing Ward, but it?s matchup dependent. The only spells I cast with regularity are Crusader?s Call & Flashing Blade, and those are dependent on opponent model placement.

    I camp a lot.

I think every Constance list should start with any two Morrowan models/units:
    Gallant
    Versh
    Precursor Knights

I normally leave Versh in the bag, because I?ve got a lot of other solos I like to bring, most of them Cygnar for the possibility of armor from the feat. I?m considering dropping Gallant for a Stormclad for more beef, but then Versh goes in, and I?m tempted into Stormblades. . .not sure about the whole tradeoff. Lots of points there.

    Jacks I like with Constance:
Gallant, Stormclad (big threat with Crusader?s Call; actually threatens other heavies), Centurion (unstoppable beef), Cyclone (good board control against melee-heavy armies), Hunter (softening up heavies from range allows those infantry models to actually threaten them), Ol? Rowdy (Rowdy is never bad).

Jacks I?ve tried but I?m not sure about:
Charger (better on the ATGM than with Blaize herself; I don?t like giving it that much focus), Lancer (I don?t like Sunburst much; Sword Knights can change my opinion on this).

Jacks I haven?t tried but will for kicks:
Firefly (Sword Knights and Storm Callers like this guy), Minuteman (looks ridiculous), Avenger (aoes are good), Ironclad (cheap).

    Jacks I?m not excited about:
Thunderhead (well, THead is super good. . .maybe I am a bit excited), Triumph (no), Thorn (no), Grenadier (trenchers, eww),
Defender (awesome jack, but I?m not seeing it here), Sentinel (not as awesome), Hammersmith (no).

    Units I like with Constance:
Black 13th (always good), ATGM (always good, offer better support to ranged jacks for a ranged component to a Constance list that Blaize doesn?t need to support), Trencher Commandoes (need some RAT support, but 13? AP charges can surprise an opponent, stealth and AD are baller as well), Stormguard (reach good), Stormblades (no reach bad, but hit like truck good),
PKs for sure, SKs for sure (cheap and expendable; jamworthy), Nyss with Murdoch (Nyss are awesome), Aiyanna and Holt are always good.

Units I haven?t tried but will for kicks:
Steelhead Halbies with Murdoch (a point cheaper than full Stormguard and one higher defense and a turn of blast immunity/cover is actually substantial), Maybe other mercs with Murdoch(Boomhowler is always good, for instance), Long Gunners (I quite like LGs, actually, not sure if they're worth it with her. . .), Storm Lances (seem solid with Crucall).

Units I don?t like with her:
Mechanics (no), Trenchers (not doing enough for their cost; they do look like fun to play, but yikes).

    Solos I like with her:
Jr/Squire autoinclude for bigger control and Arc Shield on her, Runewood (fixes matchups, also supports Sword Knights and charging units. I like him a lot.), Rupert (gives PKs or Stormguard an important extra defense), Gorman (is ridiculous; Run him with the B13 for prowlstealth often), Arlan is always good, Epic Eiryss is usually good, Madelyn Corbeau (adds an interesting assassination threat to the list, giving Constance a possible 16? threat and adds some vectors), Harlan is always good, Stormcallers are always good.

Solos I will try for kicks:
Storm Strider is always good, Katherine Laddermore (seems like a decent, if expensive, missile), Lanyssa Rysyll (or whatever, to just be silly), Viktor Pendrake (Beast Lore has potential), Rorsch and Brine (better in mercs for sure, but beef?or pork on the table is generally good).

Solos I don?t like with her:
Finn (because he?s Finn), Trencher Master Gunner (not enough aoes), Reinholdt is wasted here most of the time, Silas Wishnailer (isn?t great if I don?t cast upkeeps at all. Also bad if I ignore Sunburst. Which I do.), Gun Mage Captain Adept (not enough gun for the points, if I?m taking guns I want more volume).

I often work in self-sustaining modules because I expect her to do little except cast CruCall once and then Flashing Blade if she gets into the mix.

So ATGM + UA + ARlan + Hunter or Charger are good. SKs + Runewood (+Ua+Firefly+Stormsmiths) are awesome. PKs + Rupert are good. Stormguard + Rupert are good. Trechmandoes + Finn are good, but painfully expensive. B13 and Gorman are good.

I wrote a guide for the theme list a while back...

To deviate from the theme list, you need to address the option of running her as a merc. I have something in the works that I could post soon. There are pros to running her with swans and pros to sell swords.

Trenchers are pretty good with her actually, Crusaders call + Desperate pace moves them 13", while shooting. Transference means they can actually fight in melee without needing the charge to damage things and their high speed and AD makes them a good choice to send in first under the feat while your melee units are still moving up.

Whack arcane shield on them and the first trencher to die is 13/16 and they only get tougher from there, suddenly a unit that usually folds to one hit is tying things up effectively once a few are dead.

Just don't go piling them into beast 09 or similar ARM 20 heavies. That way if your opponent goes 'AHA I SHALL BEAT YOUR FEAT BY NOT KILLING!' then you just turn to get LOS to Finn and start boosting damage rolls, or to hit rolls. Clear out everything that isn't heavy armour. All while your second wave is charging in.
    Damn you, Cthulhu.

Cautious Advance is an order, so the trenchers can't CA and charge with CruCall. They're mutually exclusive. I do think they have a great toolbox, but I prefer Trenchmandoes for AP charges (also come with sprays! Sprays good!). 13" charges, while awesome, tend to end outside my 14" CTRL area. I actually prefer the Commandoes without finn with her. 11" is good, sometimes I'd rather lob grenades or roll some sprays, and being able to dial-a-point value for 7-9 doodz.

I haven't played them with Rangers yet for the RAT buff, but I'm not sure I want to dump 12-14 points into that. I probably will at some point.

I haven't played her theme force at all yet (Just got my second unit of PKs, actually. . .), but I like the look of it. I play her in swans all the time and I like it a lot. I think outside of theme the Squire is pretty awesome for her, but Squire is nearly always awesome. Being able to take the Black 13th for a toolbox of great guns (which are difficult to remove on feat turn if they're screened by PKs or Stormguard who have Ranked Attacks) helps too.

    What?

When did I mention cautious advance? **** cautious advance man. I was talking about, you know. Assault. The good order? The one you don't have to pay 3 extra points for before finding out that you can't dig in on that board/your opponent only brought guns with hunter anyway?

The 13" charge does mean you can end up going too far with them 'tis true.

The trenchers actually end up with a better threat vs stealth than the commando's (8" move + 8" spray gives 16" vs 13" move + 5" RNG for 18" threat), although they'll be less accurate due to not being able to turn and look at Finn.

Basically, give them a shot, even if it's just a min unit getting thrown into the grinder to inflict some casualties while the melee stuff gets ready. They're a bit more versatile than the commando's, at the cost of less effectiveness vs a couple of targets, and with much greater threat ranges.

Right on. That's my bad. Sprays are sooooooooo good tho. And as I said, I've tried the Commandoes with Finn and I'm having a hard time with his 3pt self. He doesn't make the cut much. As far as his model goes, he's the biggest trencher ever.

I've considered running Trenchers with her a couple times for the smokescreen effect protecting my creeping army of MOAR KNITES. I'm sure I'll try them out, but man I'm not excited about the idea.

I've run miss Blaize around two dozen times since she came out last year.

I've run her in Blue, I've run her in Green, and I've run her Tiered. My win record is rather ridiculous with her, and kills have ranged from "Constance to the Face", Steelhead Halbred Boost, to Spell Assassination (damn right spell assassination).

I've hit 40 armor with her. I've killed 3 beasts, 8 troopers, and a caster in one turn. I've had her use transference to get a crit-slam from a Forgeguard to kill Karchev.

She is one of the single most ridiculously fun casters I have ever played, and geared right she is a force to reckon with, even against even through Cygnarian area denial, double tap, Temporal Barriering stalling she continues to power through with her army and win games, handily.

Loch'N'Load is coming up, so I'm gearing for that, but as I practice I'd be happy to write up a guide for her with my (almost) year of experience as my go-to-girl.

The problem with this argument is that you're trying to justify what would be the realistic response in a world of magic, giant robots, dragon spawn, the reanimated dead, bipedal elephants with four arms, a druid several centuries old, and a woman who must be held down by chains so that she doesn't float away.

The real question is, why isn't this on the merc forum? She's a merc caster after all. Grab Versh and Gallant (all merc jacks max at POW 17 anyways), then load up on Steelheads and Forgeguard. You'll wreck a lot of face. All your cool support solos now count as faction, Forgeguard quickly become brutal under her feat and can murder things with Transference, the Steelheads have 13" threat range with Crusaders Call, it's just good times all over.

For the same reason that she's listed in Wrath under Cygnar and not Mercs.

Ah, I can see you were one of the decieved. No, Wrath was very good for Mercs. They got two warcasters, one of which Cygnar can also use. It got put in the Cygnar section so Cygnar players wouldn't wonder why we didn't get one that book, but once you play her in Mercs the truth quickly becomes apparent.

And yes, I am a little bitter. Which is ironic becuase I also play Highborn and can get the best use out of her.

however I do like constance but think she runs best as her tier army.

This is an interesting one, I took free-strikes ect. with my troops during the start of my feat turn, getting 7 souls to prep my army for weathering Siege, so Siege then decides to feat, using a rather impressive use of target selection and application of applied feat to the face I ended up with 15 souls at the end of the turn.

Constance starts with 16 armor, +15 for new soul focus (up to 31), 6 Normal Focus (37) and Arcane Shield (40)...you might notice the lack of squire focus here, I was running her tier list and dropped transference for the turn.

I then put my lancer up on a hill and spelled Siege to death with Sunburst using my 21 focus, never saw it coming, he thought I was using the lancer just to give my Sword Knights flank from a durable light.

Edit for Clarity: Remember that Ground Pounder's attacks are all simultaneous so you don't get the armor until after the massed death, he was packing auto-point Eiryss, he had defenders, long gunner combines, and feat turn to lower armor by 7 for my troopers, I can't remember but I think he was packing A&H too, this was a couple months back.

One angle I've been contemplating is running an army with as much assault units as possible. Probably storm blades and UA, storm lances and laddermore, maybe trenchers too.

Constance has no range buffing so I think Rangers would be a good idea as well.

Personally I'm loving the thought of what free strikes opens up for Blaize. Sure you dont want to kill my troops, but you know what? I'm going to make that decisionc that much harder for you.

Corrosion Clouds, covering fire, defensive strikes. She loves each and every one...as long as it is an enemy attack.
