Default Epic Severius non Tier list

    No medium base exemplars here:

    35 Points

    Caster Epic Severius +6:
    Blessing of Vengeance 7 (bonded)
    2 x Reckoner 16
    Hierophant 2

    Min Choir 2
Min Temple Flameguard with UA 6
    The book 2
    2 x Vassal 4
    Piper 2

The idea is quick brick with sheild walls and tough, and go in for the headbutt with BoV on the warcaster and 2x Choir and focus boosted Reckoner shots with Awareness and then Vassal attacks. So that would be 4x shots at p+s 15 with crit fire and boost on 2, saving focus for Sevy to arc some spells too boot and 4 focus on BoV. What do you guys/gals think of this list. Was thinking of swapping out one reckoner for a Vanquisher for infantry heavy armies, but the Reckoners allow me to deal with more threats.

The 50 points will include 2 units of bastions and Vassal mechanic.

Would love some input on this list.

You're pretty light on troops, I think you are going to struggle to keep your opponent off of your jacks. I would consider dropping the Hierophant, and downgrading the BoV to a Revenger to take some Wracks (eSevvy loves them!), and filling up the TFG. You're basically in the same spot focus wise, but now you have a full unit of TFG. The BoV isn't a big win for eSevvy IMHO, since Hex Blast is kind of situational and if you bond it you can ignore a freestrike anyway.

This list telegraphs your intentions fairly well though. Get the Reckoners within 12" of the enemy caster, then tag them with Flare and a couple of boosted POW 15s. Maybe even setting them on fire and following up with a pair of unboosted POW 15s. I would be a little bit concerned about the lack of Rhoven in this list. I tried something similar to this at a tournament once and every single caster I faced was Stealth.

I see what you are saying, sadly Rhoven is not in the cards for money issues haha. I like bushwack on the BoV to get him out of trouble, with the imprint it gives him pretty good survivability. Wasn't thinking a lot about stealth and yes that is a concern, but I cannot have everything lol. I'm going to give it a shot and hope for the best, will probably proxy Rhoven n Co. after a few games against cryx.

Edit: In low point games down grading the BoV shouldn't be an issue but in higher point games I really want to run him, he is a lot of fun with some cool utility.

I also don't want to have to buy just 4 more FG to get a full unit hahaha, trying to game on a budget is a pain in the butt.

You know, Bushwhack looks really good on paper, but in practice I have never had a situation where it made sense.

Theoretically you could kill/push away everybody in melee and then walk up to arcing range, but in all of the times I've played it, the opportunity to do that has never come up, or if it has the jack has already lost its cortex or arc node and there's no point. Between the potential of maybe getting to use Bushwhack and the near certainty that you'll be able to use some extra focus from Wracks multiple times per game, I know which way I would go.

I am in the complete opposite boat on the Bushwack department, I have made use of it in I would say 75% of the games I have played with BoV. But in this case I will take your advice and go with the modified list, you made a good argument for the wracks.

Wanted to add that I love the FG with Holy ward, they can be an awesome tarpit with eSeverius (just my 2 cents).

It is better to bond a different Jack, If you put four focus on something, it is because you want to hammer something. Every heavy in your list does it better than a revenger or BOV. Plus always pay the extra point for BoV, when you have Sevvy. That +2, used only once a game will pay for that point every time. But you will find you use it more than once a game.
In 2013 I have made a pledge to take time for myself and paint an hour every day. It takes me about 2 hours to paint a basic troopers so I made a point system to keep track of my goal. 2pts small base, 4 pts med base, 6 pts large base and bonus points for special figs. You should make your own pledge. Do 90 pts in 90 days, or even 30 points in 30 days. You can look here to see how I am doing, More flames and bones here!

Ok so first game tonight against Sorcha, and running this list went pretty well. Forgot to use Enliven on my Reckoner and got him scrapped by a Juggy but ended up getting the win with a Reckoner re position after getting crit fire on Sorcha. The FG held it down and having them at 15 defense 17 arm + tough was pretty awesome. Definitely going to be playing this list again.

Make it a tier 2 list.... just drop the piper. My list is very similiar

    Caster Epic Severius +6:
    Templar (bonded) 6
    2 x Reckoner 16
    Repenter 4

    Min Choir 2
    MaxTemple Flameguard 6
    The book 2
    2 x Vassal 4
    Wracks 1pt

I think I'm off by a point, I haven't won all my games, but I'm playing against trolls and retribution mostly, both seem kinda tough to deal with.

eSevvy usually loves trolls. Nothing like having Champs turn around and beat up a Krielstone unit. Tuffalo are also really nasty.
