We just reviewed a great static grass applicator. This is perfect for doing entire boards. Sure there are other ways of flocking boards, but this makes it easy and fast, plus the results are great!

These things are typically very expensive, surprised he didn't mention a cost. http://www.grasstechusa.com/shop.htm
I'm glad to see the more cost effective version mentioned as well.

LOOOOOOOOLLLLLLL!!!!! That is way too much for something you can make yourself.

The one made from an electric flyswatter can be made for parts costing under $10.
The bigger one can be made for parts under $40. It is also a much better and powerful unit.
The Grassinator by Noch goes for $200 retail.
The S c o o t e r's Static Stick is as much as $75 to $95 and is just a retail version of the $40 version mentioned above. He just makes em and sells them for double profit.
Hitting YouTube and looking for Static Grass Applicator, or Grassinator will show many results. Also using these word searches on Google will show many results as well as plans to make some nice units.
As for what glue to use, simple old white glue or PVA glue works just fine, and is the standard used. If it is not working well for you, chances are something is wrong with your applicator or the use of said applicator. Millions of model railroad enthusiasts cant be wrong for all these years. :-)

P.S. Why in the heck is "s c o o t e r" a blocked word? Each time i tried to type it the forum changed it to a bunch of *****

Grim drop the s and what do you have, that would be my guess as to why.
As for the product, I think I would rather make my own for far less.. but cool one the less.

I will admit to some nasty enjoyment of insecure people freaking out because I have impugned the manliness of their hobby, but that's a minor side benefit.---Dave
Well let's try it eh? ****** :-) Well aint that the nail head there. Good call. Still doesn't make sense since i didn't say COOT*R and i typed SCOOT*R in the post. Stupid forum.
Yeah i have been acquiring plans for a Grassinator. I have owned the parts for the flyswatter version but never took the 10 mins to actually make it. LOL But i am more interested in making the bigger version for a more powerful magnetic field. Of course, it is also the more dangerous one to build if you dont know what you are doing or pay attention.

I made my own from random junk I had around the house. The converter was the only part I had to buy, but I went with the wired version instead of the battery.
It's worked wonderfully for bases and display boards:

Nice! I will have to look into making one of these for myself soon.
