Default Steamroller Planning multiple lists (warlock combos)

So many SR events now require 2 lists and divide and conquer is getting a bit more popular.

I want what people in general do when picking their 2 casters. (i know some use 3 lists, but I didnt want to focus on that atm)

First thing I do is break down who wants our warlock attachment. Skorne has the additional challenge of trying to decide which of the 2 lists get their atttachment.

Marketh is important to me for following casters

    Zaal,
    P makeda
    Xerxis
    P Hexeris
    P Morghoul
    E Morghoul

I like him with non Theme Rasheth and E hexeris, but I dont feel he is needed.

The rest of the casters are optional/not needed. To me this is the first biggest breakdown.

To me, the casters that have the eaist time to hit High Def, deal with infantry swarms are E hexy/Zaal. In the metas I play in, it seems to me. I almost need 1 of these 2 casters as 1 of my 2 lists.

With Zaal, I like to team him up so far with either Mordikaar (gives a lot of magic immunites/attrition aspects that Zaal lacks)
I also like Rasheth T4, because its just great against Hordes.

If i picked E hexeris, I might also team up with either E Makeda or E morghoul. Both give tons of speed that is always fun to play.

Do you guys have any pairing thoughts? I think its critical to have a good pair when going into the current steamroller enviroment.

I'm running Hexeris 2 and Xerxis. For me while Hexeris 2 could use Marketh, I think Xerxis really likes him more -- so that's how I'm rolling with it.

Hexeris 2 will be my anti-infantry list, anti-high def.

Xerxis will be my high armor/anti-range attrition list that should throw some for loops.

PS: It was a close contest for me between Zaal and Hexeris 2 but I ended up choosing the later because they share more models and makes it easier for me to get two lists fully painted up.

Honestly, my answer against high-def infantry is Rasheth personally, while I use eHexeris against most Cryx. Neither has Marketh actually...
I post under the moniker Red Manatee at Sustained Attack.

Morghouls, Xerxis and Makeda1 for the sole reason that they can have fury for transfers. If Xerxis is comboed with any of those then he'll go without. Only exception is Zaal tier.
When life gives you lemons, keep them. Because, hey, free lemons.

Typically for two list formats I do Zaal tier 3 and a rasheth tier 4, so zaal gets marketh and hakaar while Rasheth doesn't want any characters. But I always spend a lot of time trying to figure out my lists and the marketh debate is a big one but for me hakaar is probably just as high.

I run both Morghul and Xerxis in my three list events and I like Marketh with Xerxis. I love hot swapping fury and Xerxis can keep Marketh alive for longer. I run beast heavy with Morghul and its hard to screen him from shooting.

IMO you are over using Marketh,he's good, but he's definitely not an auto include. I'd be more concerned with Choosing two casters that complement each other. Xerxis with eHexy; pMorg and eHexy or Mordi; eMak with Anyone; Zaal with pMorg or Xerxis; etc..

Ignoring Marketh for the moment. There is still a lot to decide when choosing 2 casters.

For example I love Zaal, but I have been trying to play more Epic hexeris. In my last event I use these 2 together in a SR2012 and realized that was a poor decision.

Zaal and Epic Hexeris solve similar issues, and were not a good choice to be used together (they both can deal with Infantry swarms, High Def troops, and warmachine very well)

Back to Marketh - I can see not using him with P Morghoul if i really want him in my 2nd list, but I feel casters like Makeda1/Xerxis/Zaal/E Morghoul/ and to some extent Hexeris1 all gain extreme benefits from him, and taking him out of those casters, hurts the list overall.

I actually find Zaal and eHexy work well. Zaal handles lists with a lot of heavies very well in my experience, and Hexy handles troops.

I also find Zaal and eHexi good combination- Zaal messes upkeeps for oponent and have little trouble with high def but is melee oriented, so my eHexeris is rather range oriented, and well, he is only one I find to work good in ranged skorne play.
