First ever tourney - 25pt eGaspy list.

Ok so after a depressingly long spell with no games at all (way over six months now) I found a reasonably local store offering a 25pt tourney so it's time to bust out the dead guys finally. Only issue is, I have no idea what to field and very little chance of experimentation. With that in mind any advice would be well received.

the list I've been tossing around so far is:

Lich Lord Asphyxious
Cankerworm
Deathjack
10 Bane Knights
Bane Lord Tartarus

Seems to have decent stuff in it but there may well be some better ideas than this and I'd like to put in a decent showing so with that in mind...go nuts guys!

Sadly not - although I did used to live in Sheffield, I'm now way down south in Milton Keynes - the tourney is in Northampton.

I think Kuwanger's list is definitely the best you can do at that point level.

The core of any epic Asphyxious list should be full Bane Knights, Tartarus and Bile Thralls. Bane Knights + BLT are our highest threat infantry, that are still accurate on feat turn (others rely on Gang or CMA), so they are a must. Biles are so good with eGaspy that it's a shame not to take them. He solves everything for them: protects their puny defensive stats with clouds and increases their threat range via Excarnate.

After that, there's not much left at that point level. In Steamroller 2012 you have to use up your jack points and 1-2 nodes is never a bad thing, so might as well take those.
Gerlak is solid for the 3 points, after Tartarus charges in and (most likely) damages the enemy caster, Gerlak charges as far as a Bane Knight vs living targets and will be effective P+S15 with 4 dice.

Deathjack is just way too much points at that level, taking up half your army. I think I'd only take him with 1 specific caster at 25 and that's eSkarre.
With eGaspy I wouldn't add him before 50 points and even then there are strong cases for just leaving him at home.

EDIT: apparently you don't have to use all your WJ points after all. Still the only thing that could gain you is having 2 point left over to take the WSC instead of Gerlak, but I think Gerlak is the better option at this point level unless you're really worried about getting rid of upkeeps.

Last time I checked a minimum unit of Bile Thralls only costed 5 points, not 6.

You are correct. That is a typo. Upgrade a wretch to a defiler. Or take a 1 point solo. or even scrap thralls. I find they are great lil bombers for running into infantry and then you popping them in the back.
