Thread: The Scavenger

    Default The Scavenger

The Most Bird looking of all Death Chickens, mine came with a 30mm base and I didn't notice till I was priming him. would he still count as a light warjack wreck? and if I'm correct, you can Ghost Walk and Fly him in as an assassin through all enemies and if you're really lucky escape without retaliation . . .somehow I find myself in a Death-Chicken Cult.

    You need a medium base.
The idea is sound, for counter attack and solo hunting...only issue for me is finding the points.

How about in a pDenny tier? The model is amazing and i like the rules. Does he do decent damage?

I got a scavenger to deal 13 damage to mulg a few days ago. Used the coven. Ghost walk + Infernal Machine + scavenger = Turkey Missile!.

With coven or mortenebra the flying chicken is insane. And the solo hunting can be upgraded to warcaster hunting at times.
With all other casters he is fun but doesn't cut it to most lists for me.

You're a member of the Wildlife Preserve. It's been a while since I put the turkeys on the table but those little guys are insane with the right setup. I don't actually use them to hunt solo characters but I guess the Coven could get away with it. I just put him on the table with Mortenebra and he hangs out behind the lines waiting for an opportunity.

I recently had to use one in my pSkarre list because i needed 7points of reinforcements and the only things i got that fit were a pistol wraith and a scavenger.
The Wraith shot two models standing in the way and the Scavenger beaked eFeora to death (and it wasn't even feat turn).

Try slamming something into terrain. 5d6 is nice.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

I've found Scavengers make nice with stalkers in a pSkarre list. Scavenger hides in forest until good target comes along and helps the assassination vector with the stalker on feat turn.

I've popped them out of Dark Industries a couple times, too. Not the best choice, but not awful if the 'jack kill is in the right spot - the Combine kills a Repenter, conjures up a pigeon and it immediately charges already-injured Kreoss...
My other bond is on a ROVER.

Much as I hate to be down on the Turkey of Doom, the autonomous jacks the Combine creates won't have focus, and therefore won't be able to charge (or slam, or power attack, buy attacks, etc) - unless they create a Seether, who charges for free. One reason he's such a good choice.

They've won me my last two (also my first two) games with Mortenabra. Last one was for the Steamroller win.

Hey can i be enlisted too? I'm currently playing a list with coven and 2 scavenger. I'm using them as solo/caster killers and they indeed a great job, especially paired with stalkers.

Of course! The only requirements is that you keep telling people it's awesome, then you're automatically in

Run it with an Overseer, that's what I do. The duo finishes off warjacks, deals with heavy infantry, and acts as a general all- around nuisance for your opponent. Highly recommend it.

You get mileage out of two models that you wouldn't often play, and it's a solid combo to boot. That makes it worth it every time.

It's also a seven point combo that turns your speedy Scavenger into Slowpants McSlow :/
