Cool!
I hope that NQ will be available online soon - maybe through War Room!
Not unless you want to wait until July for the NQ...
I mean available on, for instance, an iPad or a mobile device
Would also mean that you have it exactly on time - and I assume that PP would save a lot of money by publishing it online along with a paper version (shipping costs/printing etc)
You really need to stop calling it No Quarter Plus. because it's actually Minus most of the content. No Quarter Lite would probably be more appropriate, albeit terrible.
While you're correct that the "plus" is a misnomer, you're also correct that "lite" would be an awful choice, since it's meant as a preview, not additional (plus) or stripped-down (lite) complete content. "Minus" is also pretty bad. I would recommend "No Quarter Preview".
Alternatively they could call it "Some Quarter"![]()

"One Quarter"... I like that one. "Plus" would indicate that there's additional web content, supplemental to the magazine. Many publications do that, and it's what I expected from the title.
"One Quarter" more accurately sums up what this is - 25% of the content of one-fourth of the articles in the issue.![]()
I like it! I just would appreciate The Armory from the first couple NQP (or is it NQ+?) being added so all of them are eventually available as a free download. Keep up the great work NQ crew!
Absolutely No Quarter. Oh, First Quarter!![]()
I don't get the "Plus" on it. The PDF is simply a gutted version of the magazine issue. How is that "Plus" anything?
Wow, I'm interested in picking this one up for sure to see what the Kraken is going to do, as well as the Khador Collosal.
+1 for NQ light, but at least they are doing this as it gives you and idea if you want it or not. I am also waiting for they day you can own the electronic version as well as the paper version.
That artwork of the Vyre Jack vs the Stalker... Just. Wow. Going to buy the magazine just for that. Fantastic.
I couldn't help but notice that the Banshee has the wrong head, though. :S I kind of wish I hadn't noticed it, because it's going to bug me every time I look at it now, haha.
Something cool I noticed from that article: the Manticore is an almost 300 year old design and still very relevant on the modern battlefield. How old are the other factions' 'standard' jack designs? I'm thinking the Juggernaut and possibly Slayer would be contenders for similar; Menoth jacks are recent and IIRC the Ironclad is basically an upgraded Nomad. Please correct me if I'm wrong, everyone.![]()

"It's a brand new day, and the sun is high. All the birds are singing that you're gunna die! How I hesitated, now I wonder why, it's a brand new day." Dr. Horrible
The slayer was first sighted in 531 AR (So 75 years ago), the juggernaut's initial service date is 516, with the first use of the chassis dated at 465, so 90 years old for juggernauts, but the hull is a 126 year old design.
The ironclad is currently 50 years old! (initial service date 556), and good Ol' Rowdy is from the second year of production.
As for crusaders? They date back to 513, making them 93 years old currently.
And that's why ironclads are MAT 7 RAT 6.
Damn you, Cthulhu.
Rule 34 states that there is now porn of a book making sweet, sweet love to a shark somewhere on the internet.

Thank you very much! Actual dates much appreciated.
The article says that the first Manticores were produced in 315 AR, which is 293 years ago. I couldn't help thinking that's why we're stuck with MAT 6 RAT 5, haha. I think the elves should get to work on their cortex tech.
I also noticed that the article mentioned House Vyre had to disassemble their existing colossals after the War of the Houses, which I believe was about 50-60 years ago. I guess we now know for sure the second faction that has had colossals before the current arms race.Makes me really curious now if Hyperion is a Shyeel design, or if it's got parts of the House Vyre tech incorporated into it.

FYI, every time I scroll down to the Karchev pic, my browser freezes, then closes all windows. This happened twice to me, so, just giving you guys a heads up. Everything prior to that looks great though.
Random note, I like the art competition. Mainly in that folks who art talents outside of modelling get to try something.
And stuff.
