Default Cincinnati 35pt Triple Threat Tournament

    My lists:

    pIrusk
    ~Black Ivan
    IFP + UA (full)
    Kayazy Assasins +UA (full)
    IF Ulhans (full)
    *eAlexia/Kayazy Eliminators*

    Old Witch
    ~Behemoth
    ~Scrap Jack
    eEiyrss
    Gorman
    WGI +UA (full)
    ~1x WA
    Kovnik Joe
    Lady Aiyanna + Holt
    Mow Drakun + Dismount
    *WGRC (min)/Koldun Lord*

    eButcher
    ~Beast 09
    Rorshe
    ~Brine
    Great Bears
    Fenris
    Kayazy Eliminators x2
    Saxon Orrik
    pEiryss
    *Yuri/Manhunter x2*

    Round 1 vs Cygnar
    ~Overrun~
The board is dominated by a river running straight through the center with 3 bridges. My opponent has eCaine, pHaley, and eHaley and decided that pHaley plus giant river = Win.
    pHaley
    ~Centurion
    ~squire
    Stormstrider
    Mechanics
    Gun Mages
    Hornhold Forgeguard (full)
    Junior
    Stormsmith

I chose eButcher since it is the list with Saxon and the most out of activation movement.
    Turn 1:
I win the roll-off and take first turn. Everything but the Butcher runs forward. eButcher casts Fury on Beast and charges.
Arcane shield is cast on the Centurion and Forgeguard and everything else runs forward.

    Turn 2:
None of my stuff was in TB range, thank god. Fury is upkept and everything basically runs to the point where everything has a toe in the river. eButcher is central, across the bridge. Saxon Orrik gives pathfinder to Fenris, who runs 16" into his lines, tying up the Stormstrider, and a few gun mages. My opponent makes all terror checks.
pHaley feats, casts TB and upkeeps arc shield. The Battle engine spends its entire activation killing Fenris, which I take as a win. The gun mages thunderbolt Beast and eButcher back an inch, and everything else runs closer to the river. The Centurion is the only enemy model inside the zone...standing 6" from eButcher.

    Turn 3:
I roll a 5 for Focus (getting 6)and drop Fury from Beast and cast it on eButcher. I feat, walk up to the Centurion and four swings later I have control of the zone. I think I took out its shield with the 2nd swing and then rolled well afterwards. The great bears charge and kill 2 forgeguard and Rorshe shoots the stormsmith...netting me 4 total rage tokens. I give one to Beast who advances is now all the way across the river about 2 1/2 inches from the Storm Strider. The other three I give to each of the great bears, who would completely block the forgeguard from the zone.
Nothing is upkept and deadeye is cast on both the Storm Strider(SS) and the gun Mages. Three gun mages advance into the zone and take pot shots at eButcher with Crit Brutal shots, along with the SS netting a total of about 8 damage.

    Turn 4
eButcher charges the contesting models, making short work of them and my opponent offers me his hand.

That was definitely a tough round one match up...lets see what comes next.

    Round 2 vs. Retribution
    ~Supply and Demand
My opponent has Ossyan and Garryth lists as primaries. The Ossyan list will have trouble with all of the infantry in my two primary lists, so I figure he will go Garryth. I choose Irusk since he can buff his army from the back table edge to avoid a Garreth assassination.

    Garryth
    ~Banshee
    Sentinels + UA (full)
    MHSF + UA (min)
    Narn
    Nayl
    Mage Hunter Assassin
    Fane Knight Issyen

My opponent wins the roll and takes first turn.
    Turn 1:
Mirrage is cast on the Sentinels and everything runs forward. Nayl runs full tilt at Irusk
All of my infantry runs into position. The IFP are on my right flank to block off the zone. They advance and minifeat to move a total of 12". The assassins are on point in front of my cav and Irusk casts IF on the assassins and Superiority on Ivan...hardly leaving the deployment zone, and feats. Black Ivan walks forward and boost attack and damage on Nayl via bombard.

    Turn 2:
The sentinels charge into my assassins, not realizing that he needed 12's to hit. MHSF move closer to the zone and bounce crossbow bolts off of the IFP. The Banshee shoots at something but misses. And finally the Fane Knight charges in...killing only one assassin.
Irusk upkeeps both spells and moves a little closer to the objective...still about 4" outside of deployment zone. He casts Inhospitable ground to make sure that his sentinels and jack were stuck in place. The IFP miss more MHSF than they hit, even with CMA and the assassins kill 5 or so dawnguard. My Ulhans charge the Fane Knight and do away with the super solo plus Narn and the magehunter assassin. Black Ivan rolls triple ones and misses the sentinel UA, scattering the maximum distance back and killing two Kayazy. I guess they will get vengeance.

    Turn 3:
Garryth can see the writing on the wall. He charges into the IFP killing two, and sitting on two focus with his feat up. The Banshee runs up to my Kayazy + Ulhans, so no orders for either of them.
Irusk is just inside Garryths feat, so no upkeeps. He takes two step backwards and recasts Superiority on Ivan and battle lusts the IFP. I get off a 4 man CMA against his caster, connecting with the Crit knockdown, and dropping him to 5 wounds. Black Ivan then walks up and finishes him off.

Neither of my opponents lists were going to be able to handle mine very well. It did not help that everything in my army was a threat to Garryth in Melee.

That puts me at 2-0 so far, next up is...

    Round 3 vs. Circle
    ~Demolition~

My opponent brought eBaulder, pKrueger, and Morvahna. Morvana was the list that he had not played yet, although it was
such a bad matchup against the Old Witch that I figured he would just choose pKrueger. We both knew that whoever won would go on to play Legion...which Morvahna could handle fine if he ended up locked in, while I could not get locked into the Old Witch. Anyway...

    Morvahna the Autumblade
    ~Woldguardian
    ~Woldguardian
    Bloodtrackers + UA (full)
    Skinwalkers (full)
    Shiftingstones
    Shiftingstones + UA
He won the roll for turn and elected to go first.

    Turn 1:
Everything runs forward. Regrowth is cast on bloodtrackers...who preyed the winterguard, and restoration goes on the skinwalkers.
One focus is given to Big B main cortex and two to the sub. Winterguard bob and weave forward and miss a skinwalker with the rocket. Big B tramles and pegs a skinwalker with a bombard, doing about 5 damage. eEiryss keeps a toe in a forest and shoots a bloodtracker, missing unfortunately. IF goes on the Winterguard and Avatar of Slaughter on Scrappy...who is right behind Eiryss.

    Turn 2:
Both spells are upkept. Skinwalkers charge/run, one gets a charge off on the drakun and the rest fan out infront of the WGI, engaging many. I forgot about their +2 speed. The bloodtrackers get 6 chances to hit eEiyrss, needing 12's with no luck. They spred out with reform and 2 engage her. Morvahna casts Harvest on herself and moves into a defensive position. The Wolds trample forward and get sourounded by stones.
Big B gets two focus and two to the sub. Both Spells are upkept. I need to deal with the skin walkers first and since they are arm20 engaged Aiyanna and holt activate and land harm on the one unengaged model then Holt finishes him off. The drakun activates and kills the one that charged him. Behemoth smashes two of them into paste, leaving one left. The Old Witch tries to get luck and swings on him twice, only doing a hand full of damage and then teleports into the woods behind Scrappy, but engaging one bloodtracker...who fails the terror check. Woot! She then feats to add insult to injury. Scrapy kills three trackers and ends up in the woods next to Eiryss. She aims a shot at another Tracker, knocking off Regrowth. WGI activate and bob and weave. Four advance into the skinwalker blocking his LOS and the rest walk by. A CMA finally kills the last beast and various shooting nets me a few more trackers. I am feeling very good at this point.

    Turn 3:
My opponent is dead set on killing Eiyrss apparently. One Guardian teleports forward and misses twice with boosted 10's and once unboosted. This is were he starts throwing dice...i kid you not. The other guardian teleports and trashes Scrapjack. Both of his heavies are now in base to base, with Gorman standing 5" away. Two Bloodtrackers flee into the zone to contest.
Behemoth gets three to sub and one to main. I drop IF to get that extra inch of movement. The WGI clear out the zone and the Drakun runs in. The behemoth tramples to join him and kills a stone from each shiftingstones unit with bombards. Both of his heavies get black oiled and Eiyrss walks away to shoot his caster...although I forget about Sac Pawn. I think the last of the trackers is killed at this point and the Old Witch just runs to a safe distance. Score a point.

    Turn 4:
Morvahna Charges and kills Eiryss. One heavy moves to engage Gorman, and a stone shifts to contest the zone again. He passes the turn to me and then just starts picking his models up off of the table.

That was a terrible matchup for him and I am supprised he just walked into it. Looking back that game would have been over anyway, since the trackers were fleeing...thus cannot contest a zone, and the stone that he teleported was out of formation...thus could not contest. I guess I am off to the final round against Legion.

    Round 4 vs. Legion
    ~Envelopment~

My opponent has his choice of three lists. Saeryn, pThag, or eLylyth. eLylyth means that the Old Witch is an auto-no. I choose Irusk, once again because he can effect the board from so far away and has no problem dealing with heavies, even under pThag's aura. We, of course, draw the board with a forest dead in the middle and two on each side...in the middle.

    Saeryn
    ~Ravagore
    ~Carnivean
    ~Scythian
    ~Shredder
    Shepards x2
    Black Frost Shard
    Spell Martyr
    -Reservese-
    Deathstalker x2
    Thrulg

I won the roll for turn and gladly took 1st.

    Turn 1:
The Ulhans run full out at the left tree gap with the assassins behind and the IFP spread out and run towards the other with Black Ivan trailing. Irusk casts IF on the pikemen and Superiority on Ivan and sits plenty far back.
The Ravagore walks up and nails the Ulhans with a blast...killing one on a lucky roll and setting the rest on fire. The Scythian runs in front with respawn to screen the Ravagore with the Carnivean running towards the gap with the IFP. His support spreads out behind his beasts.

    Turn 2:
Irusk upkeeps Superiority and drops Iron flesh. He advances a little and casts battle lust on the IFP and Ulhans, then feats. Five of the IFP can get to the Scythian and one charges the Carnivian. They also declare the minifeat. It takes all five IFP but the Scythian bites the dust, he respawns behind the IFP so that my Ulhans cant charge it. Then my minifeat triggers and all of the IFP move out of the and he hangs his head. The other IFP does about 8 damage to the Carnivian. One Ulhan charges the Scythian and finishes it, and another gets to charge the Ravagore, doing about 13 damage. Black Ivan misses a shepard, and the Assassins run to position in the zone/charge next turn.
My opponent is reeling a little bit but recovers fairly well. The shredder runs into position and Saeryn cast Blightbringer, killing one Ulhan and a couple IFP. The ravagore gets healed and two handed throws the Ulhan that charged him at the other two, knocking them down but doing no damage. The other shepard charges the IFP that is infront of the Carnivean and manages to kill him. The Carnivean then advances on Black Ivan and boost to his with his first attack and flubs it! Ivan takes his dodge move and the Legion heavy growls angrily.

    Turn 3:
You might be thinking...'Isn't this a flank scenario, where are the reinforcements?' I managed to remember mine this turn. Irusk gives 3 to Ivan and upkeeps superiority. The Ulhans walk out of the way and the Ravagore gets charged by Battle Lusted Kayazy...ending that beast. The IFP walk around trying to kill support, and failing for the most part. Ivan walked up to the Carnivean and puts another dent in the last Legion heavy. The Shredder is still contesting the zone with the Blightbringer shield so no point. Oh, Alexia kills one of the Blackfrost Shard with Hellfire and the Kayazy run to tie up his backfield.
Saeryn move up behind the Carnivean and blight bringers away the Eliminators, then chucks a knife at Alexia, missing. The Carnivean works over Ivan a little this time, taking out movement and the cannon. Forcing him to boost to his has paid off in spades.

    Turn 4:
Black Ivan gets 3 focus, belly bumps the Carnivean out of the way, and walks up to Saeryn. Boost to hit...Crit Brutal. Leaves her at 4 health. Buy and Boost...Crit Brutal, good game.

    A Victory for the Motherland!

It turns out that if you need a can opened, eButcher is your man.
