    just a quick question on the aiming bonus. if you don't move can you still change your direction and get the bonus.

    Not normally no. Some rules would allow you to move when you forfeit aiming, and some warcasters/warlocks have spells that would let them move after aiming, but for the most part, if a model forfeits its movement, then it can't change facing.

    I was skeptical, so I looked into it myself. Generally, the only time a model may voluntarily change its facing is when it is advancing - that is to say, deliberate movement. Even if you're moving 0", changing facing counts as advancing in this case.

    Correct. Any movement of your model, even if you're just turning it, is considered an advance. That's also something to remember if you, say, forfeit your movement after being knocked down.
