Default Trying Absylonia@35 points for the first time. Tier 4 advice

    Hi all,

No one uses her at all at my club and I am picking her up this Saturday. I want to stay in tier unless there is a killer list that is better. I own most of all the beast models.

How competitive is the below list?

    Absylonia Tier 4

    Angelius
    Carnivean
    Scythean
    Raek
    Harrier
    Shredder x2
    Forsaken x2

I feel at 35 points she might really shine and I like her feat a lot. Her tier allows the Lessers to get AD and the Heavies to gain advanced move and the Discounted heavies are a big bonus.

    Thoughts?

Pretty much standard at 35 points, there's very little to change. However, I would swap the Harrier and/or a Shredder for Stinger(s).

Swap the Harrier for a Stinger (Abby doesn't need the auto-hit, she and the Raek can hunt solos by themselves just fine, and Bushwhack <3 )

I would slip a Bolt Thrower in there, but my love for the Bolt Thrower is extreme, and probably forbidden in most of the Iron Kingdoms.

I find that Stingers for very good speed bumps to protect your beasts from the alpha strike. With Reach, they can do quite a bit of damage when they get a free strike, and will put the hurt on living beasts.

I actually prefer Harriers to Stingers. They will hit, and live to hit again. Larger threat range + flight. Stingers might get their kill, but then stand out their in the open waiting to die.

    Just throwing that out there...
    Menoth: 285 pts.
    Legion: 210 pts.
    Mercs: 21 pts.
    Minions: 82 pts.
Models I've actually painted myself: 10

I run a Shredder, a Harrier, and a Stinger just to have the most animi available.

Pretty standard for 35. I also run one of each lesser. Sometimes I'll drop the Raek and Carni for Typhon and run a 3rd Forsaken and a shepherd. Remember the heavies only get Advance move 1 per Forsaken in the list. So in your list you have to pick 2 heavies to do the move.

If your meta isn't familiar with Absy get ready for a ton of crying. People always forget about her feat and have a tendency to whine when you heal 2 or more beasts to full. Also, when playing against Warmachine armies watch for clumped up jacks and drop blight field on them to neuter them for a turn. I run her for any event where a tier list is required(Domination/Longest Night etc.) and my meta is very used to me playing her by now but I still have a very good record with her.

I asked a few people at my LGS about her and most of them say she is effective, but boring to play. I want to use her only because no one else does and it seems like she really shines at 35 points.

She's hardly boring. Hell, Saeryn is more boring than her.

That's good to hear! Luckily no one plays casters that can purge upkeeps either so I should be safe lol.

I love me some Absylonia, I've gotta say, although I don't exactly own a large number of warlocks yet. She brings to the Legion exactly what I wanted when I bought the battlebox; Buff, then CHAAAAAAAAAARGE.
