So, just today I was playing a game against a buddy of mine, him using the PoM side of the 2-player BB plus two paladins and me running a standard pDenny 2 slayers, 2 deathrippers, 2 sirens and a min unit of soulhunters, just for fun. The game started out pretty well. Slayers took down the vanquisher and crusader with little difficulty thanks to parasite and some brutal combo strike damage rolls. CG helped the SH to get some hurt on the cinerators, but things went south after that. Kreoss dumped CG with purification, and annihilated the soulhunters. After some shuffling and running, the armies met at the center, squared off to end things. I feated to try and get the alpha strike and break through his infantry, but poor placement left me at an awkward angle. More shuffling from kreoss and things looked no better, but then I saw it: seduction. So I seduced a paladin with my siren and walked him around to kreoss, and missed.. Thankfully, a lone and overlooked deathripper found himself in the paladin's back arc, and after two influences the paladin still hadn't hit kreoss. Two more however, led to a lovely eleven damage and then exactly seven, enough to take down the High Exemplar with his very own paladin. I never thought I'd find a use for influence, and yet I find it winning me a game, for only four focus. Definitely a combo I shall bare in mind next time I get discouraged in a similar situation.![]()
