Post Best way to deal with Druids?

    Heya,

I played Circle for the first time last night. My opponent ran pBalder with Wold Watcher, Wold Guardian, Warpwolf Stalker, Druids of Oberos + UA, Shifting Stones + UA, Lord of the Feast, and a War Wolf i think.

I list was Borka with EBDT, Bomber, full Nyss Hunters, Whelps, Fellcaller, min KSB, and Viktor Pendrake. A pretty straight forward list but then I realized Moshpit, Pathfinder, and Blast Damage were nullified by Balder. It In the end the game turned into a real attrition nail-biter. I also didn't have a good way to deal with the Druids of Oberos. Between Summon Vortex, The Devouring and immune to blast damage I really didn't know how to handle them.

Any ideas on handling these pesky druids?

    Thanks,

The Nyss should be quiet capable to handle the Druids. Hunter ignores the vortex-cloud and thus camouflage, which means you shoot at DEF14. Likewise, the fellcaller is spraying against their base DEF.

I can't remember if Nyss Hunters have Hunter, but if they do, they should be able to ignore the clouds of the druids and just CRA them. If you want to melee them, you can use Fennblades and War Cry them. With Mat 8 and Reach, you should be able to cut down those druids pretty easily.

I totally forgot about hunter. Plus, that explains why he targeted them first.

Bomber blast damage kills then on 6+. Once you start eliminating some of the Druids, the rest tend to crumple pretty quick.

I'm a Circle player so I can tell you that this one isn't going to work against the list described. Baldur1 has Solid Ground which means no knockdown and no blast damage in his control area

Longriders + Horthol = Charge over with Boosted dice on Impact attacks or Troll Bowling, (Kriel or Fennblades and slam attack them over Druids)

An in-faction solution is scouts. They have hunter, gang, assault and pathfinder.

Other solution is Grim angus who will grant hunter to any model/unit that needs it.
