On it's own I usually say Menoth.

If I need to mention the faction several times close together I will say Protectorate the next time as it sounds better than repeating the same word.

When introducing the game to someone new, or telling someone new to the game which faction I play, I will say Protectorate of Menoth. I also say the full name in a situation that deserves a more formal use. For example, if I give a bit of in-character spiel at the start of a game.

The point of deviation for this discussion seems to be weither or not PP has the authority to dictate proper shorthand.

My thought is that while they are the creators of the universe that does not give them power over the people watching and interacting with their universe. We've paid our money for the models and the books(hopefully) So while they have complere control over what the little people in there little universe call the PoM, they can't tell me what to call ProMe.

Also I've decided to start calling it ProMe. I like it.

I'm infinitely more upset by people who think "your" is an acceptable substitute for "you're". For a moment I gave serious thought to using as signature "Eradicate grammar nazis : write properly", but it sounded unnecessarily antagonistic.

To be truly butthole retentive, we actually play a faction call The Protectorate of Menoth. Simply calling it the Protectorate is being lazy, just as lazy as people who call it Menoth.

By the way, the gentilic for "Protectorate of Menoth" is Menite, not Protectoratese.

I'm not Menoth; Menoth is a God. I suppose I might say 'I play Menites' but that sounds weird. I almost always say, "I play the Protectorate."

I refer to is as the Protectorate simply because I got in the habit after a protracted (several week) disagreement at my LGS over whether menoth was pronounced "Men-awth" or "mee-nawth". It got old fast, so I just sidestepped the issue and started saying "the protectorate"

I call them Menoth, since they are the extension of their Creator's will. Transitive property of math! If A=B and B=C, then A=C. The Creator gave the Menites freedom over Cygnar. The Menites wage war in the name for the Creator. Thus, the Creator is fighting the battles!

I always go with 'Protectorate'. "I play Menites" could easily apply to half the Khadoran 'casters...

I always say I am a Protectorate player. To me the designation "Menoth" sounds wong. I think the point of view, of the Menites, in the Protectorate, is that it is Menoth there is doing the protectorating, never Cygnar. Hansel is wording the case right, (see #29).

Exactly.

Protectorate of Menoth implies that it is a state under sovereignty of the diety Menoth. Not that it is a Protectorate still under Cygnar's domain, which would imply that they are still under some sort of diplomatic control/obligation with Cygnar.
