If she's a MHSF UA, then it may give new life to the Kalyssa tier list, which is already quite solid, since you can take two UA's in that list. If you had one MHSF unit with Phantom Hunter and another with True sight, that would be quite excellent .

Because what Retribution needs is another way for a Warcaster/Warlock to not protect themselves, right?

I haven't decided what I'd like her to do. True Sight is tempting... tough is always nice.

What if she was to grant Void Lock, but only on a (also granted)CRA to the MHSF? Would that be too powerful?

Also, what do you think she'll look like? I think if we had more to go on with her rules, we could imagine what she looks like more.

While everyone is hoping/presuming MHSF why not a unit of Mage Hunter Assassins? They have psuedo-ranged weapons with their 4" reach but they are obviously melee oriented. Maybe she'll be more like Yuri the Axe and give them elite cadre or special ability(ies). She could also effect MHSF units just like Yuri effects both man hunters and woodsmen.

That's true. I guess when I think of CRA, I typically think of the entire unit attacking one target. Void locking 5 targets would be OP.

That doesn't sound like a unit that's selling its services to humans. I'd vote "no" on her being a Merc or making things Merc.

That would be my guess. Eiryss, Mage hunter commander or something.

I don't disagree at all, my point was more about how its the first piece of news we have had for a very long time about any potential new units coming out way since we saw Ossyan's tier list mentioning House Vyre units. Depressingly though this new unit is probably not something we will see until Warmachine: XXXXXXXXXX

Eh, I dunno. I'm not convinced that is clearly not MHSF. It could simply be hyperbole to describe our innately superior elven weaponry. As we hashed out last week: MHSF have a melee game too.

But, yeah, "unitS". So Scyrah only knows. New could be good!

A good point from the thread in the main forums - there's very few units who have had their UA released in the same book as the unit, other than all of our current unit/UA pairing of course.

So ... if Eiryss3 can in fact attach to a new unit, will it be in Colossals, ie the book before Eiryss3? Speculate!

The fact that they are hyping (because let face it Matt Wilson posting about a future release and hinting about another is HYPE) models that are on next year book do not gives me hope that there will be units in Colossal.

Why not hype the stuff that will be on the book that is about to be released?

Epic vyros and galleon have me near to bursting with anticipation, i'm not sure that either will be amazing, and i honestly don't care. Not sure how much more PP could do to make me keep wanting to play than those 2 things. Sorry you don't share the excitement, pirates and vyros happen to be my favorite things though =)

Vyros is my to go caster and I can't wait to get my hands on him. Also his feat is growing me (and I never liked feat that needs my stuff to die, that's the reason I sold my SKorne).

This is still going to be a great book for vyros, because mobility + perfect execution + hyperion is probably pretty solid, and evyros is probably pretty solid =) I don't know that i can afford galleon and hyperion, though i am getting a raise soon so maybe =)

Pulling this back to the Eiryss3 speculations, what about if she's running a nyss hunter equivalent thats Ret faction only, after all the Nyss are still Iosan once removed, they could pass their training onto the "warmer blooded" elves to keep their traditions going whilst they're fighting against the blight.

Fluffy but also works, adding in Eiryss will allow for extra shinannigans, I think True sight would be a little too overpowered but I wouldn't complain afterall Legion does it so well

Id hate to be the only one to say it. But if tey put her into a unit and took away her ability to disrupt, strip focus or upkeeps but gave her unit something awesome. Then it would be a horribly hard decision to make if its worth taking her v3 form to buff a unit or keep her v2 form for its tactical applications.

I must say, i am somewhat surprised at my fellow Retribution players, since this points directly to the following writing in the Ret Forces Book :

A small but fanatical priesthood encourages and actively support the mage hunters. These priests are dedicated to a radical interpretation of Scyrah's faith that predates the Retribution. They describe the goddess as a battle-ready maiden, not the peaceful avatar of spring traditionally depicted.



Additionally, i remember reading something on the line of "zealous, blade wielding Scyrah Fane priests" but cannot find it anymore.

Im expecting nothing short of a Kayazy/Daughters of the flame equivalent to be honest and i also think it fits Scyrah extremely well, both fluff and gameplay wise. Lets hope that unit will already hit in colossals

I wouldn't mind a new unit or two, of if she just attaches to existing MHSF or Nyss Hunters. If she's our ranking officer for Nyss Hunters, that might not be so bad!
I really hope she maintains her Disrupt ability, though.

So it sounds to me like we'll get another shooty Mage Hunter unit and she can attach to either of them. Hopefully she teaches them all how to be mini-Eirysses and grants Technological Interference or something.
