Ah thats good, sorry im stuck in Tier 4 mode as I have a Tournament on the 30th that is 50pts Tier 4. And.. Ugh all our theme lists are epicly dumb. They pretty much scream "BUY MORE CRAP." Four Battle Mages!? Three Mage Hunter Strike Force!?

I've pretty much decided to just do the pVyros NQ Theme List as it isn't one of the stupid buy more crap ones.

Actually when one of your casters has Backlash, tactics: Sniper gains a whole new use. Doing exactly a point per hit on a jack that's been arcantrik bolted would be a death sentence for most casters.

Me likey. Shoulder pads look like Narn's. Think we're looking at a group of Narn-juniors? Could we perhaps be getting an Acrobatics unit?? Not sure how Eiryss3 is going to interact with them, though, since she's keeping her weaponry.

Yes please, keep all spoilers to the fluff thread (which I assume is full of spoilers). It's one thing the spoil the fluff after the book is publicly available, it's another to spoil it without warning a month and a half before the vast majority have opportunity to see the book.

Reading the discussion about Vyros2 and Destors in the other thread, I was thinking about the new previewed units for the next book. We know that Cygnar and Khador are getting light cav, Cryx are getting heavy cav, and we're getting our razor blade unit ... do we actually know whether or not we're getting a 2nd cavalry unit as well?

I think light cav could fit in very well with Retribution, a true skirmish unit. Anyone have any thoughts on what they might be, for pure speculation?

Fluff-wise? We can get something for house Issyen(sp?), some mounted Fane Knights, Mage Hunters light Cavalry (ok not fluffy but why not?) and perhaps something from house Vyre.


Personally I stick to the Mittens on mecha-flying stingrays.

Oh yeah ... for some reason I keep forgetting that House Issyen is known for its light cavalry (it's only been mentioned about 5 times since that panel, lol). That would be pretty cool, too.

It's always interesting to think what additions from other houses would give to Ret - there seems to be enough houses with different focuses that PP could keep new stuff coming for quite a while.

Hmm ... Silowuyr (sp) is known for its swordsmen ... I wonder if they would give the razor-blade unit fluff saying they're special mage hunter recruits from Silowuyr, combining the expertise of their house with the expertise of the mage hunters. Yay for completely baseless, idle speculation!

Wrecking Kaelyssa's already garbage tier really doesn't worry me.

I've won three tournaments in a row with this tier. I really don't see how having a pure advance deploy force with +2" of deployment and a great denial feat is garbage. The sheer amount of board control that force has when it can advance on turn 1 and be sitting mid-field ignoring EVERYTHING in front of it is pretty damn good.

One of the tournaments I won with Kaelyssa's tier, the final game was against pVayl. If anyone is familiar with her you'll know that Incite is one of her best spells, but he was so terrified of getting that close to use it that he was only able to get it off once.

Indeed. Part of me wonders if the razorblades' daggers are also thrown weapons, or if they have a crossbow in addition to their swords like Narn ... but even then it seems pretty clear that the intent is for them to be a melee unit and any ranged capability would be secondary.

Also, I'm somewhat curious to see whether the razorblades will get a non-Eiryss UA as well, or if they have to share with the MHSF.

I am betting on Advance Deploy. Everyone is, no doubt. Eiryss likes AD. All Mage Hunters tend to. It's practically guaranteed.

I will also be surprised if she doesn't finally learn how to be a freaking Arcane Assassin herself, since otherwise she can attach to a unit of guys that can do it while she can't. Makes me wonder if that means the Razor dudes have it as well. Make everything mesh well. I would also like to say this is guaranteed, but there is a precedent for Mage Hunters that can't punch through an Arcane Shield.

I wonder if she'll more or less be like her epic incarnation and hand out her old abilities to her unit, or if she'll drop most of that and go for something entirely new. We know her weapons function the same (but not on what level, probably just stats). That's all that's been mentioned. She might lose interference and all her wacky disruption shooting in favor of making a unit really hardcore. Though if she doesn't have a deadly RAT 9 shot of her own, she just won't be Eiryss. People need to fear that crossbow.

Yup AD is almost a given. It will be weird if she does not disrupt one way or the other. I will be very interesting if she grants disruption to a unit.

As much as I am not a fan of the large proportion of bald elves we have, finally having a female one makes me really happy. It seemed to falter a little into the common fantasy trap of having female characters always be "pretty" (Eiryss' lack of armor in her epic form stands out) with their male counterparts mostly going for the radical hair cut. So I applaud this decision.

Aside from the model, I'm also really excited to see what it is she will do for the MHSF. Considering she is being added to a melee unit makes me feel like they will go along the route to enable them (MHSF) to get some mileage out of their ability to combine melee attacks.
