Default Watcher - Who does attack target?

I had heard on the Khador forums that the attack made with Watcher doesn't have to target the model that triggered it. But I reread the rule recently and I don't think that is correct.

"When an enemy model advances and ends its movement, blah blah. That warjack can immediately make a full advance and then can make one normal melee or ranged attack targeting the enemy model. The attack and damage rolls against that model are boosted."
    (Emphasis mine)

So, does watched have to target the enemy model that advanced and triggered it?

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

According to the spell text, yes as it says THE model and not A model

My understanding of it was that IF you make an attack*, it has to target the model that triggered Watcher.

*IE, you don't have to make the attack, if you chose not to, Watcher does not expire either.

While you can choose not to make an attack granted by Watcher, you are still utilizing effects granted by Watcher which expire upon resolution.

Wrong. This has been asked several times and confirmed by Infernals. Watcher does not expire if you don't make the attack.

@OP: I don't see how the spell text can be ambiguous. The model obviously references the enemy model that triggered Watcher.

Yes, that is what "the model" means.
    Infernal since 30 September 2011

It reads the rulebook or it gets the hose again.
