    Default First Time Scaverous 50pts

I'm looking to branch out into Scaverous, although, not sure on a list.

    I'm thinking something like this...

    Scav
    - Erebus
    - Wretch
    - Wretch
    - Scarlock

    Overseer
    - Malice

    Max Bane thalls + UA
    Max Mechthralls
    Withershadow Combine

    Siren
    Siren

That's it. not sure about it though.
Would have liked to get a pistol wraith in there, i think he could be handy with TK available.

Any tips on how to play him, or what i should be looking at in a scavy list ?

So.... I was just informed that you can't marshal Character JAcks....

    Might need to rectify something.

Possibly just swap out the Seer for the Pistol Wraith.

Or downgrade to Reaper and add Brute Thralls. You'll still be able to boost to hit and damage with a WWS nearby, so you should be fine even without Malice's increased stats.

Since you are running Mechthralls its a good idea to have the Surgeon because they tend to die easily and quick if targeted..you want them to eat up those bullets/charges and come back...right? but yeah reaper is a great choice since you cann't marshal character jacks, pretty much does the same stuff but a tad weaker stat line and ability wise.

I didn't notice, the no Surgeon, kind of assume it's always there Yeah downgrading to a Reaper and adding the Surgeon is probably a good idea.

    Hmm, thinking about it...

If i drop Malice down to a Reaper (2)
Then I could actually drop the Bane Thralls (11)

    And put in..

    Max Mech Thralls (5)
    6 Brute Thralls (6)
    Necro Surgeon (2)

Then have it as part of a tier 2 list, and get 2 free Necro techs, and the WSC get a Soul each... hmm....

6 brutes *should* be sufficent hitting power, espically considering my secondary list is pSkarre.

    Hi Rhin0,

The problem is that the mcthralls can have only 3 brutes attached to them.

I'm trying a Scaverous tier 2 list this evening, it looks like this:

    Lord Exhumator Scaverous
    Ripjaw
    Ripjaw
    Erebus
    Harrower
    Skarlock Thrall
    6 Mechanithralls + 1 Brute Thrall
    10 Mechanithralls + 1 Brute Thrall
    Necrosurgeon & 3 Stitch Thralls
    Necrosurgeon & 3 Stitch Thralls
    The Withershadow Combine
    Necrotech & 1 Scrap Thrall
    Necrotech & 1 Scrap Thrall
    Warwitch Siren
    Warwitch Siren

I only have two brute thralls otherwise I would drop one or both of the necrotechs.
Hope this gives you some inspiration

Are you saying its a maximum of 3 brutes per army ? thought it was 3 per unit ?

My tier list i was thinking of was....

    Scav

    - Erebus
    - Nightwretch
    - Nightwretch
    - Scarlock

    Overseer
    - Reaper

    Max Mech Thralls
    - 3 Brutes
    Max Mech Thralls
    - 3 Brutes
    Necrosurgeon
    Withershadow

    Siren
    Siren

It gives the WSC and the Overseer a free soul at the start of the game. Which of course, the Reaper can use the overseers soul to boost when need be.

I'll post up a few thoughts once i get some games in with it.
But locally we have a league going and I'm bound to my 2 casters, I choose pSkarre and pGore... this was before i starting going over how cool Scavvy looked.

It's 3 brutes per unit indeed.

Please share your thoughts, happy to hear them!

I'm going to try out a Scavvy list with Croe's Cuttthroats (they've got some nasty weapons

A tier 4 Scarverous list in a Steamroller allows your Reaper to Alpha strike your opponent's jack (if he ran 12" on his first turn) and you TK him and the reaper - just in case. I found it difficult to pull off a dark industries because the WSC is too far back or I can't fit in all three models. It is easier with Malice but then you don't get the tier 4 bonus of 2." I've also found that a machine wraith works well with a reaper/malice drag. It is 4 points less than the WSC, it's only 1 model, and it leaves the repear/malice protected from charges. Also, I have never played an Overseer but I can't imagine it marshalling anything greater than an arc node. I can't tell you the number of times I've regretted not placing 3 focus on my reaper and I don't think that Overseers have much chance of collecting 3 souls. [and the number of times I regretted place 3 focus on it because it failed to hit (even boosted) or wound (even boosted)]. I prefer Malice.

Just on the subject of the Overseer + Jack.

You know being a Jack marshal basically gives you a focus (in a way)

But also, the marshalled jacks can spend the Overseer's Souls (as Focus)

Also, you can get one of the Siren's to give the jack a focus before it activates.

Again, Also, Doing Scavvy's Feat turn, the Overseer can shoot off a Boosted Dark Fire, and likely claim another soul,

So there is a turn there, when the Reaper can have 4 or so focus (effectively) not too shabby.... "in theory"

    Loving the feedback.

But like i said, just can't fit a game with him in just yet, because of my local campaign :/
