Also, there seem to have been built, according to generally accepted 'forum board wisdom', to contain what you want, and not what they want you to have. Makes me want to start up a Hordes faction right now. Plus free Rulebooks! Get all your holdout friends and convert some sixthedders into marktwoers. Looks like a buck twenty five gets you everything one person needs to get two feet in the door.
Double plus! All the old board games that still exist.
Grind is good fun, even if its just going to be you and one buddy who get really into it. Scrappers is nice to play between games of IKM. (and if everyone is familiar enough with the game to play without the board it fits in your pocket.)

Dang if I'd known about this I woulda convinced the new Cygnar player to hold off for a TINY bit longer on buying his "starter kit."

Is that the full soft cover rule book, or the new mini one? I assume it's the regular sized one, though it would be nice if they put the PIP on these things, or at least had a picture of them.
Looks good altogether. All the bundles seem to pick a pretty effective unit (though I think Protectorate players might have preferred other options to bastions), and some great support solos, no real bad choices there. Winter Guard Death Star for Khador, Mage Hunters for Retribution, Fenn Blades for Trolls. Gives newbies a solid list straight up to wreck face with. I like it.

Those packs all look pretty good, though I would have picked Errants for the Protectorate box rather than Bastions.

The Hordes bundles cost about as much as the Warmachine ones (and there's no small Hordes rulebook). I'd guess that since they cost around the same that both Hordes and Warmachine bundles comes with big rulebooks. Originally Posted by maddermax

This Cryx starter is awesome! In the game shop I go to I just started promoting warmachine there with my buddy and as of 5 weeks ago there was zero players. Now currently I have built 8 6x4 tables that are sanded, painted and flocked and we are near the end of our journey man league that has more than 16 people in it!!!!! But now that I am done tooting my own horn I'll get to the point. We are having our first steam roller in this store and there are two cryx players. They asked me what they should do for 25 points. I showed them my cryx book and had them tell em what they thought was the coolest looking models. In the end I told them the best fit for a Cryx player to get a firm grasp on the faction after the battle box is to get a full unit of mech thralls, a necro surgeon, Skarlock, and Prime Asphyxious and Skarre because each of the Prime casters play differently and will show you our faction at a snap shot. I am just pleased to see that PP agrees with me

the menoth kit is quite ok. battle box plus bastions, vasal, mechanik, choir and the prime mkii.
anyways: since it is only free domestic shipping this deal is totally uninteresting from a european point of view.
i m kinda wondering what pp's policy is to promote the hobby further in europe. i have never really come across offers like this in europe.Painted models do 15% better in game than non-painted models, that's just science!

I don't know where my books are right now to check, but at a guess, are the merc contracts in Prime as well as the merc book? Because that might be it. In the case of the minions, a new player needs the minion book to play his pact but a merc player gets his contracts in Prime. IIRC the winter bundles had the faction books in them too.
This is just some logical speculation. Can't check my books right now to know if I'm right.

I believe it is the items on sale. Grind, the bundles, etc. Normal store stuff probably doesn't ship for free (so don't go ordering a bunch of bits or Extremes!)
I'd want to check with Adam before ordering if I were you though.

I know I am in the minority on what I am about to say but...
I really hate it when companies like PP doe these sorts of deals that entice players to buy large sections of their armies directly from the manufacturer and not from a LGS. It is short sighted and hurts the people that ultimately make their game successful the local owners who provide word of mouth support and a place for us to play with our expensive toys. While this looks like a great deal for us it takes money out of the pockets of the people who make playing this game possible. So please before buying here at least ask your LGS to match the price.
Remember you should always:
Pay Where You Play.
or you may end up with no where to play.
