It is short sighted and hurts the people that ultimately make their game successful the local owners who provide word of mouth support and a place for us to play with our expensive toys. While this looks like a great deal for us it takes money out of the pockets of the people who make playing this game possible. So please before buying here at least ask your LGS to match the price.

    Remember you should always:

    Pay Where You Play.

or you may end up with no where to play.
I totes agree with the idea that you should shop where you play, and support your friendly LGS's, but I think a bundle like this has a different target audience, in general, than experienced WM/H players who will buy a bundle instead of shopping at the FLGS (and to be sure, some of that will happen, but I don't think that's as important as my next point).

It's a great deal that entices people on the fence to jump into the game (especially timed, as it is, around the announcement of the yearly Games Workshop price increase) full force. And then after that, they shop at their FLGS for their WM/H needs. It's clearly aimed at the new player (with the core rulebook included), and as such it's about getting new people to buy into the game, which will pay dividends for their FLGS's down the line.

Seconded and heartily agreed with. A good game store is something to be treasured.

This. As an FLGS employee, I'm very happy with these deals. They'll get new players into the hobby, and as Privateer doesn't sell their models directly to the public, the new players will then buy from us. It's win-win, really.

Only one I'm not really a big fan of(and really the only faction I'd consider getting one for) is the Legion one. I don't think I've ever seen those warspear guys used by a legion player, and of course their battle box is not one of the more optimal ones to build an army off of(never going to use more than 2 shredders in any given army, and would prefer a ravagore or scythian over a carnivean).

Side note on the Legion battle box: Most other battle boxes come to 11 points. The Legion one comes to 13. Drop one of the shredders, and it's 11.

And the deals, while not a large part of an army, should serve to give you a good core for one. I don't have my books with me right now, but I think the Circle one will give you a start on Kaya's theme list.

With the legion one I prefer dropping two shredders for a Raek. You can drop one more to 'get even'.

Legion sale + Ravagore = 35. I own a magnetized plastic beast kit. Excellent...

Bought my $34 (with shipping) copy of Grind on Sunday night and had it on Wednesday. Best frakkin' deal in the universe.

...Now who wants to start up an XGL?
