Looking for help against hordes

I usually fair pretty well against other warmachine players, being able to disrupt the jacks and whatnot, but I really start to struggle against certain Hordes groups. I do fairly well against most of the Skorne but then comes the legion, circle and trolls. I find these to be the hardest games for me. Hard as in maybe boxing one or two of my opponents pieces before he wipes me out. What strategies have some of you used to take on these opponents? I have a fairly good collection of pieces but I tend to field a combined arms approach not so much a "shooting" army.

I have tried going for scenario wins rather than getting a caster kill, but my jacks do not last long enough against the warbeasts. Any help would be appreciated.

Can't remember the specific list I used, but at the last LGS tournament I killed every one of my opponnents models using ECaine. Generally I've found that Legion and Circle are harder to hit but suffer from durability, Caine and Rangers are a good bet and should do the trick.
