A Tale of Warmahordes 2012: May Completed Models

Welcome to the May Completed Models thread for A Tale of Warmahordes 2012.

A few ground rules for this thread:

• This thread will remain open until 12pm GMT on Monday 11th June - any posts with a date/time entry after that point will not count towards your April totals. I will, however, cross-post any late entries into the May completions thread.
• This thread is for models which entrants into A Tale of Warmahordes 2012 have completed during May. You can also include models which you completed too late for previous months.
• Please post separate pictures for distinct unit entries, with a note as to how many points each entry is worth. I don't have all the faction books, so I need this information to be provided.
• I'm still looking into the possibility of a gallery, so please confirm in your post if you will be happy for me to load your pictures (with appropriate credit) into it if I do get one set up.
• Once we hit the 11th, I'll update the Google Docs spreadsheet with how many points each entrant posted.
• Anyone who has less than five points posted by the closing date will count as using one of their "Get Out of Painting Free" cards

A couple of points to add to this list:

• Why you painted the model doesn't matter - be it for yourself, commission or some form of exchange, it still counts as far as I'm concerned.
• If you want to join in, please PM me - but please be aware that I won't be adding people to the spreadsheet until they've completed something.

Bases for my May entries need finishing, but I'm waiting until I've got a batch of minis ready to go before doing the last stage of static grassing (makes a lot of mess so I don't do it often!!!), anyhow, here goes!

Shifting Stones = 2pts
Painted sandy so I can easier differentiate my two units of Shifting Stones!



Wold Guardian = 9pts
Needed a 2nd for Baldur1's reinforcements / Baldur2's list, and since the Stones came out OK...



And finally, Ghetorix = 11pts
I know blood isn't to everyone's taste, but it's a running theme through my Tharn, and Ghetorix was a Tharn king.



So, that's 22pts from me for May

A pair of dervishes at 4 points each

A pair of allegiants of the fist at 2 points each


A pair of hunters (my favourite jack at present) at 6 points each

Hakaar to keep them company at 4 points


and a razorworm at 4 points

I struggled with the skin colour a little but it looks ok now.

Comes in at 38 points this month.

Ironclad for 7 points. Still working on his base, but I'm also re-basing 4 models tonight, so he'll be done. But the painting is all done.



and Stryker, for free. His shininess bothers me, but that's two coats of matte varnish, and if I try to put any more on i'll lose any detail I have left. I need to work on painting eyes...



And I got a second lamp today, identical to my first one. I should be able to start taking pictures with much better lighting now.

Rocinante is built on an old Metal Nomad chassis. It gives him a different look compared to plastic Nomads... more personality.

Damiano (0pts) & Rocinante (9pts). Rocinante was converted from a metal Nomad--I wanted a dramatic, "check ME out!" pose and I like how he turned out. The base is a Cygnar wreck marker, as since the jack is based on a Nomad, the idea is it's just proved it's far from obsolete.



Thor Steinhammer (2pts) and two Blasters (6pts)



Dougal Macnaile (2pts), looking a bit like KHAAAN, and a Sea Dog Deck Gun, aka Fiona's warcaster attachment (2pts)

Total is 21pts. June will be infantry month for me, with a pile of Steelhead Riflemen and Nyss Hunters (plus a nearly-finished unit of Gun Mages) to chew through.
