I would switch the spawning vessel for a light warbeast because then you start the game with it. You probably will not usually lose six or more models with that small of a list. In addition, you should replace the sythean with another ravagore or carnivean when you are not playing against at least one unit of infantry.

Something you could do for fun is buy a throne if you have the money (it’s a fun build) and play it instead, it will take a lot of your opponent’s attention off a model you want to flank with.

Well the basis of a Pthag battlegroup will be 1 carnivean, 1 ravagore and 1 scythean. Justa add more models to get to 40 pts

Due to the way pThags works, you generally want to take a Carnivean with him. So you can spam Spiny Growth. As you can only have one Animus on you at any time- it means you don't need the Shredders at all.

I'd go Carni, Rav, Scythe. Then Vessel and Legionnaires.

Every turn, I generally attuned spirit Spiny Growth, then cast it on the Scythean and Carnivean. ARM 20 base, ARM 22 near pThags is pretty solid for Legion.

Needs fewer lessers, more Carniveans, and take Max Units vs Min's when you can, it is far better to have 5 buffed (or 2-3 after deaths) than 3 (or 0-2 after deaths) for things like Blessing, it also maintains the same cost to effect with them (I.E it still costs about 1.6 points per man, though it's slightly favorable towards the max Unit, since double mins is about 1.7 Points per man) This also saves 2 points in the overall which can be invested towards that carni, a spawning vessel, or a Warchief.

for close combat units i would take less so everything gets a swing and you don't waste points/men
